I have the XC and it is already "mapped". The EXCs need the mapping service done by a dealer.
IMO the XC has plenty of usuable power and needs nothing other than a better rider!

Your XC-W will have the standard US version of the map installed, you can have it re-mapped to the Unrestricted European Map by a dealer that has the right equipment.

This will allow the map switch to work as well as fixing most of the flame outs. Also the TPS can be set a bit richer, this helps.

I noticed a difference going from my EXC stock map to a first release EU map and then an even bigger difference going to the latest EU map.

Definitely worth the effort to do.

Now if only the 300 was easy to "remap"!

This is a XC-F Six Days not a XC-W. KTM makes so many bikes that I may not even know what I bought!!
I thought that XCs have the full un-restricted ECU

I am not sure if the 3-way switch would work with the XC ECU Map that I have or not. I just bought a switch, so I guess when I put it on and try it, I will know.

This is all new to me and it makes the 300 even easier to own!!

BTW, I love the direction that the 300 thread is going!

I doubt there's a rider issue

For some reason I thought you picked up an exe. Does it have a light FW? I read where the flameout issues on the 350 & 500s were a result of a lean map to address the smog.

I can't tell you what it has.....exactly. I believe the 2014 350XC-F Six Days is an XC in all respects, but has a PDS instead of linkage. IOW, a full on race bike that can slide over logs and rocks better than a linkage bike.
I'm going to make sure on the mapping though as I've heard so many different stories that I have no idea now. I bought it from Munn, so they should know.

Did you have to do a stator & regulator conversion to run the LED lights? After going thru that drill on my 450, I'm waiting for someone to build an LED kit that will run on the stock AC.
