Re-seeding happens how many times in a rally? I can't remember that many for the subject to be discussed as a blatant injustice ? The ones I remember weren't that polemic (Jonah?). They are not altering the classification chart, they are just releasing fast riders on the course. Maybe I see it this way because I always imagine rallye stages in fast open ground where overtaking is possible, though always dangerous because of dust.

There's so much involved in rallying that I don't believe reseeding creates any sensible unbalance or unfair advantage either for the ones being reseeded or for the ones getting the reseeded to enter the stage before them. If I would be fighting for 17th place I wouldn't care less if I would enter the track in 16th vs 17th . As I never done it this opinion is worth shit, but anyway...

A problem with reseeding team riders back towards the front is that they become waterboys for their team and that by being close by if a problem occurs and they supply a wheel or whatever, then they have just changed the outcome of the rally. If they dnf, put them at the back and let them earn the right to be back up the front !! or better still if they dnf, then park them up. Rules should be the same for all entries.

I don't think he would have it any other way... wasn't he a fixture of the malle motos (alongside Kemal) for a number of years? Probably what appeals to him the most

Yup - that looks like a WR450 motor to me... still the most reliable of all the 450s in my opinion - one of the few (only?) motors that can go a whole Dakar without an engine change...

As for the price of the GasGas though - I can't believe that will be for an Ohlins specced bike - the [similar] JVO kit for a WR450 is €8000+ on it's own, plus the price of the [standard] bike... I think this one was a factory bike dressed up for the photo-shoot?

Be nice though, I like red... and I intend to have a GasGas Randonne as a trailie trialer just as soon as I can get my hands on one!

Why not? you can buy a Cervantes replica 450 for £7995 which has ohlins ttx, so for another £8k you Get the rally bits?

That is true enough, I'd just be a bit surprised that they wouldn't want to charge at least a small premium for a niche bike like this? (edit. ah, just saw that price was PLUS VAT - there's a 20% 'premium' right there x)

Regardless - if they can build a run of these for that sort of money, then as has been said above - this really is a fantastic option for the privateer racer - WR450 engine (and thus readily available spares), tasty suspension, and a beautifully designed tank and fairing kit... it certainly makes the KTM Factory 450 look VERY expensive!

Hell I'm tempted myself!
