Anyone else note the POV camera that's about to get crunched in this pic?

Good catch! As long as the bits get out of what's left of the uSD card, it's all good

The new rear fuel tank looks to be quite a bit lower and forward from the previous set up. It looks like the final bend in the exhaust has been changed to carry that weight lower as well. I'm really looking forward to some close up photos to see some of the other developments.

The rears also look smaller and I think that the fronts are larger now. Even in black they look larger than the ones used previously

So all the riders have tested the bike and as I understand it, some were really surprised that Honda released this information and the photos. The bike shown is the first development mule from the very first day of testing. I'm thinking that someone in Honda Japan PR posted this somewhat unintentionally or after some internal miscommunication and it caught the team by surprise but once the cat was out of the bag, I guess they figured there was no way of putting it back.

Just late last week, Sam instagrammed a photo of a small edge of a dented rear wheel with a comment about pushing hard in testing. I tweeted it jokingly referring to Sam posting the first shot of the new bike. Within a minute, he asked me to remove it suggesting he could get in trouble. I pulled it immediately, but that gave me an indication of the tight sense of secrecy put upon the team. Since that was only last week, coupled with some comments sent to me, I am assuming this release was not entirely planned to happen this way.

I collected a bunch of spectator video in January, but after I did the video of the first 7 stages I got busy and lost motivation.

Now my hard drive is filling up, so I had to decide if I wanted to put together the rest of the videos or not before I delete them. Here's one I finished putting together this morning of Gordon and Walch. The clips are somewhat chronologically arranged, and come mostly from stages 8-12.

And here are the final two stages:

Very nice video compilation thanks! RG and his team have done wonders for the Dakar in SA. That creation rates close to the Space Shuttle in my books!

With RG's stuff I tried to roughly organize the clips by stage. With the bikes I gave up and gave almost no attempt at chronological order.
