Remains to be seen how solid this is in race conditions. A few crashes on we will see that ;-)
Maybe the factory need to send me one of those new bikes ... I'm an experienced crash test dummy on 450RFR. I can pull 11g in a crash - scientifically proven and recorded on datalogger. Won't get much of a test with aliens aboard.

New wannabee aliens are now on board the KTM team.
They will no doubt be up for a challenge to follow the original aliens - also crash-wise

Hey Jaybo, little bit of testing maybe but it won't get much mileage either

Heh heh. You're a funny guy Aussie. 5 Safari's and only 1 DNF - I can live with it.

By all account the new Honda was quick and nearly faultless all week

No news on Helders electrical, but Sam had his own on the last stage after covering the extra way finding km's - although he manage to shake a few more drops from the bottom of the tank to get him the final few km's home

Now for the big technical issue - the seat is too hard,"a bit like wood" - so it seems like it's been built like a pair of Japanese shoes, so with no Japanese riders or clog experiences Dutchmen, HRC need to find a solution for the Dakar, otherwise the team could be walking very suspiciously by day 12 or so in January

Now the Maroc is over, is it too early to start speculating and running a Dakar book?!

My guess is we'll see three different bikes on the Dakar podium this year, and my guess is:

#1 KTM - Coma - the combo of his experience/alien status, and the team structure behind him - plus he really has something to prove after missing out last year...

#2 Honda - rider TBC - I'd love it to be Helder, but I feel one of the Speedbrain riders will have more luck... the Honda 'machine' will make sure their bikes riders are always at the front, but ultimately I think Coma/KTM will nail the strategy game...

#3 Yamaha - Despres - Cyril will have something to prove, and I think he'll get at least one stage win just to rub it in - however, I feel there will be the odd occasion where things just don't go right for him, and the other teams/riders will take advantage of that - he will hang on in there, but I fear the Yamaha France team structure isn't going to be enough compared to the win-at-all-costs approach of KTM and Honda?

These are just my random thoughts...

I'm just wondering about the future.

Honda are clearly throwing a lot at Dakar trying to knock KTM of the throne, and I believe they will do it eventually, but will they stick around after they do?

Does anyone know how long there riders are contracted for?

Has Michael Metge (Yamaha France second rider and CdP water carrier) showed up in some rally lately as you know? Just curious...

Yamaha. Pain looks to be running the same old. Anyone got spy pics of Cyril's new ride?

Looks like he's gonna race Dakar with an unproven bike, since Maroc was the last along with Merzouga.
