It looks that Come could race Tunisia with a 450cc... let's see, as they say NPO is having some problems...

What type of problems? Seems their rallies were pretty well subscribed last year?

Is that still the same DOHC engine as in the 07 and 08 450/505 SX-F? I am seeing lots of those bikes being parted out because of broken engines that are too expensive to fix.... In fact I'll be using one as a base for my rally bike and put a RFS in it.

(words were whispered by a certain KTM testrider, who also just won a rally and speaks spanish). An no the 690 frame etc will not be used as it is too heavy for a 450 engine. A new trellis frame is easily built.

Be assured that it will look like a 690 rally bike, just smaller and lighter. (A bit like the Sherco masterpiece). Got the hots for carbon.

Credit to Casteau, every single brand of bike broke in the challenge except Sherco, unless i missed an engine change but that could be precautionary, and not because of a breakdown in the desert.

Even 690's broke down.
Big kudos to Casteu and Sherco for venturing in this project. Bike is amazing, and Casteu seems like an ordinary guy(just that he is riding the heck out of that sexy carbon looking Sherco machine ), always smiling and looking friendly, top stuff for sure

Dakar article in this month's Cycle World magazine.

Reading it now. It's written by Toby Moody!

Meh. Not that great of an article. Better photos and way more in-depth analysis right here in ADVrider. It was sort of Dakar Lite. Still nice to see coverage in such a mainstream magazine.

And not even 1 photo of Jonah.

I can now say with authority that the F2r works flawlessly, and will stand up to a bike landing fully upside-down on top of it, and still work with no problems.

My gps didn't stand up as well.
