What was Peterhansel riding (driving?) at the first round Gian?

And regarding the course at the Italian baja... I have been to the Pordenone event on a number occasions ( yes , I agree with you Gian) while the area the race is conducted is great for baja style (it's not that big an area in desert terms) and the number of/variations of tracks/routes for the course is somewhat limited... so a little local knowledge is for sure no disadvantage to going really fast.

Oh sorry Troy, I meant Botturi only, Peterhansel was at the Italian Baja last year on a WR450 like her sweetheart Andrea Mayer. Andrea is driving some kind of 4x4 this year. While Ruoso has switched to Honda but still have to drive it for the first time

It looks this one stayed in Australia (but I've still to find a photo) while her twin sister is in Belgium, with some mods... I think the two lighter bikes used by Peterhansel and Graziani at Nevada '95 were then modified with fairings and rear tanks for the Australian Safari '96. All these bikes were made by Rigo Moto, today they are doing the enduro circuit with Maurizio Micheluz and Suzuki RMX250

The bike above, is one of the two that ran in Australian Safari in 1996, ridden by Mac Haigh (AUST) - pictured above - and Edi Orioli (ITA).

The only thing that I can add is; the last four words that Mac said to me, when I saw him that day back in 1996 (he was stationary on the side of a sandy track, in the South Australian desert).

"Fuggin' paper airfilers... shit!".

Yes I read about this stupid problem ... just a pity cos the bike still looks great. If anyone would help me in finding other photos during that Rally and of the bike that remained in Australia.. I'd be grateful

I have a question about the new KTM 450 RR with EFi:

How do they determine which tanks to drain first? Some guys like to drain the back ones first, sometimes the front, sometimes all tanks together. This is a big deal I reckon for weighting the bike for certain conditions. But how is this done with fuel injection where you have a high pressure pump somewhere in one of the tanks?

The question is for anyone who knows a little bit more about these amazing bikes.


Then i have a second question>

If you are running a Yamaha rally bike with EFI how do recommend you connect the tanks up?
