Some random airhead parts needed for my trip

I'm going to pickup my R80G/S next month on the other side of the country and need a couple things.
The biggest being a Clymer manual for the girl...81 R80G/S

Other than that, I could use a carb kit, or other spares that would be useful on the road.

A 90 or 45 Degree RAM mounting ball, an LED volt gauge, Garmin 4 pin connector.

Anything else that you might have kicking around that could be useful.

I'm gonna be putting in an order in a week for what I need new, but trying to save coin where I can as the trip will be pricy due to the time of year and no campgrounds

Grab a new Clymer's off of Amazon and use the free shipping. Pretty cheap. Or, there's a guy on IBMWR selling 2 for $26 which includes shipping. The only issue with used, like mine, is that the manuals are likely to be full of notes in the margins and oily finger marks. I got mine new last year and it looks 5 years old already.

I saw a carb kit on eBay the other day. Search "BMW Bing" or "BMW Carb" and it should pop up. It was the full kit. I can't recall the price but it seemed cheaper than retail.

What's the deal on your 2nd G/S? I thought you were buying 2?

Tom

I am....at least I think I am, the seller is a bit unsure I think. He found a broken shock, and is afraid of putting too much money in and selling it for what he quoted. I tell him, throw in an extra thing and let me deal with the shock, sell as is and STOP SPENDING MONEY IN IT...no word yet

Oh well, we will see, if he doesn't want to sell, I will be looking for another sub $4000 G/S or sub $2800 R80ST, but would prefer his. As that bike is for my wife, I'm not going to worry about strict originality.

WTB Stock forks for BMW R80 G/S

I'd like to acquire a set of stock forks for an R80 G/S (not the R100GS). They should be straight and undamaged, but otherwise I'll rebuild them so condition isn't super important. Maybe one of you guys out there that converted to fancy USD forks along the way would like to get those old BMW forks that you'll never put back on out of your garage...

Anyway, PM me if you've got a set.

Thanks!

Andrew
