I hate the kickstand.

It feels to me like the kickstand is too short and as a result the bike leans way too far over. Also, I have found the stock kickstand foot is too small...damn thing has tried to take a nap on more than one occasion by digging in.

Any suggestions on rectifying this situation?

I looked at a lot, (all), of the available side stand feet and ended up going with the AltRider one. Had to grind a little bit to make it fit, but it doesn't make the side stand any harder to get down and works very, very well at keeping the bike from sinking in. Stainless steel too.

That said, if you want a more upright position, Ride On ADV, (AKA Jaxon/Tabasco on this forum), has some good offerings that are thicker, If I recall correctly, and will give you that more upright position.

You can buy a wider kickstand foot or make your own. or buy one here.... Rideonadv.com

Also a search on Google will help.

If you have not set the sag, try that to improve kickstand lean. Add more preload.

Some of what you are feeling is the suspension unloading when you get off.

This really is the best mod for the least $. I really enjoy the new found responsiveness of the bike after doing this.

Dave all you need to do is shove a 20 amp mini fuse into the male connector as shown in Cosmic's pic. This shorts out the two wires and provides a more responsive throttle in gears 1 thru 3. Some say it adds horsepower...I'm not so sure. What I am sure of is that it gives a much more crisp and smooth throttle response. You may have noticed what some call the "off idle stumble" when pulling away in first gear. This mod corrects that. In case your wondering, it won't harm the bike or the electronics. Guys have been playing around with this for some time and have noticed no ill effect. Good luck.

Just for clarification any amp rating mini fuse will work.

Oh, nooooooooooooooooooo...

I used a 5 amp fuse when I first tried the CJM!!!

Maybe that's why I didn't think it was as fantastic a mod as many report!

Hey Dallara, if you really want to feel some zip, try a 30 amp!

OK, Fred... I think I got it now. Gonna' order one of these...

Should be the ultimate CJM, and I can mount it right up on the handlebar so other CJM riders can easily see it...

It'll be better than those Beemer guys who wear the BMW whale foreskin riding suits to Starbuck's!!!

I wanna take this clutch mod thing to a whole new level. I think I'm going to hook one of these up the clutch switch. Nothing like more power!

I want one of those but only if it has an ABS 'Off' switch.
