You sure do a lot of reading but still come to the wrong conclusions about the 800GS, such as you saying the 800GS motor is made in China.

You and your Dutch buddy Two Plugs seem to be reading the same bullshit. The 650/800GS motor is made by Rotax in Austria. Now let's see how many more times you're going to say it's made in China.

Shureit's developed in Austria, i won't doubt that, but the aluminium castings are done in China the last three years, i know its not verry reassuring to hear such a story, i was pissed off truly, to hear that kind of information, asking prices which are stellar for cheap china human labour exploitation really stinks in my opinion, if it was Hyosung priced icould cope with it, but this way it's just inhumane...

They Fired 1500 people in germany last year while production soared!

But again, this is not a "lament BMW" thread, but a "cheap japanese GS ripoff" thread, so please try to say something about the Tenere will ye?

@R3B... Now we are friends...

It seems that our BMW riding friends here are 'select' readers. Because the Chinese Beemer stuff was introduced at... ADVrider:
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=309952

Google on it and you will see that it doesn't only involve the 'old' 650 anymore.

PS... Got the same invitation to come over to Schiphol Rijk...

I did. You're falling behind on your reading. Read this:

Only the G650GS (the old thumper) and G650X Country have their Rotax engine built there, not the 800 series..

At any rate, I don't care where it's built, but obviously you two do. Everything I buy around here is made in china from my Ipod to my laptop to my tv, clothes, kitchen sink, faucets..etc....

back to the Yamaha thread... let's hear your expert view on how this new bike is also a ripoff of your beloved Varadero, which is now available in Canada, but isn't selling, they're still trying to clear out 2008 models. They also dropped the price by $1300 from last year. I hope this doesn't discourage Yamaha from bringing it here.

Just to be awkward though, I'm going to suggest, "Super-12".

I'm afraid I can't be asked to plough back through 122 pages to see if that's been done before.

It won't be long before we need an UN peace keeping force on this forum! Well, I thought ADV riders wouldn't need that?

Anyway, today I visited the Bikeshow in Dortmund and Yamaha Germany had the new Super Tenere XT1200Z on display and I was pleasantly surprised! It looked way better then on the pics, well and solid built, mucho fine details and not that biggish as I expected(besides the huge exhaust, which is really ugly!). Really a very nice bike, only too expensive for me, not within my budget. Besides that, I'm more then happy with my XT660Z Tenere, which today proved again to be a very reliable companion, runnin' strong in bad weather conditions in Germany, snow-cold-wet-wind and mucho salt on the roads. The rider(me!) had a big smile from ear to ear, crazy ain't it?
Greetz, Hans.

The "Super Tonne" doesn't seem that "cheap" to me ... unless you price it by the kilo ... On that basis the new Ducati Multistrada looks really expensive!

THIS is the bike I would replace my DL650 with... if it ever comes here to the US. I have said since I got my wee, upside down forks, wire spoke tubeless rims and more power are what it needs. Until it gets here I am happy with the wee.
They better have 0% financing too.

As stated earlier, be fair in comparing, don't bias one side or another on incoherent grounds, but on facts. I could give lots of Quotes from other sites, stating the same as stated earlier, eand you know thattoo.

It's quite simple...

If you don't like the Super Tenere, why in hells name are you reading here, that's pure sadomasochism, please yourself and have a good day in one of the many many "ooh aahh i've go myself an expensive gizmobike" threads concerning the F800GS,but beware there are a lot of horror stories about seizures, collapsing backwheels etcetera , if you are afaid of such stories you better stay here :-) (i'f you grasp what imean by that...)

ANd now for something completely different: I've been invited to Schiphol Rijk, to have a real life taster of the Tenere !
(many thanks to Jeroen Termaat making it possible)

Damn funniest post in the thread.

I know 5 people with F8GS's and 3 of them get ridden very very hard and not one collapsed back wheel, or broken chain, or engine seizure.
Not a single issue like you described at all??
Oh, there was one, the kill switch seized?? On my bike!!
Perhaps that's the "seizure" you where thinking of!!

Your post is bullshit!!
