I got the Gen2 reflash at 300 miles. Bike wasn't even broken in. At first I was worried because the idle was very, very rough after the install.

Every 50 miles the idle improves. For any lurkers, the reflash does not turn a scooter into a Ferrari, but I am so much more comfortable at traffic lights and while stopped on West Virginia inclines due to smooth acceleration from stops.

When the bike was bone stock I didn't really notice a difference between T and S modes. Now, Yowza! S must stand for "Sport Bike" because it pulls like a crotch rocket. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on two wheels.

Also like my PIAA lights that came with an on/off switch. Hard to get used to the extra light in the woods as I keep thinking a car is behind me.

But hey, bring on the competition as we all win in the end.

He should have started with a Raven. His sticker bill would have been a lot less.

I think it was pretty new, like less than 2,000 km (1,500 miles).

I felt very at home on it right away, and even got a chance to get a little bit "off road" with it, and it still seemed that way. I think your mind-set, and any pre-conceptions about a bike before you ride it play a large factor. If you expect certain behaviours ( good or bad ), or traits, you will be looking for them.
It's not easy, but I find it's better to try to forget what you think you know about a bike when you test ride it.

But I agree with you on the new MT-09 motor. Someone has already done a bit of a mock-up of it like a TDM, but I think taking it another step further down the ADV road would be even better. It looks like a motor that is about to spawn a family of bikes.
Thanks for the advice. I guess there is only a few more months of waiting until we know new models for 2014.

Well... the "Getting bored with it" statement was only a joke because I finish farkling it.

The Super Tenere is the best bike I ever had and deserve to be bike for the rest of my life but as I think I told you before my next challenge is to do some off road solo trips. I’m not “Super Tenere sized” and I’m getting old so I need a lighter bike to this kind of trip, this is why I’m going to buy a Tenere 660.

My first idea was to keep the 1200 but I don’t have time enough to ride so many bikes and this beast don’t deserve to be covered of dust in my garage, better someone enjoy it.

So is a hard decision but if I find someone who love it…

I got mine used with 4000 km on it and it's smoother now than it was then. Will do the reflash next to lose the 1-3 gear restrictions.

The wife and I are not getting along well with the stock Tenere seat..I would like to here impressions from those of you who have other seats, what they are and how do you like them.

Sorry to say but there doesn't seem to be any strong consensus that any of the available aftermarket seats excels other than perhaps a Russell Daylong... I've been searching myself and will probably end up with an Airhawk.
