On the Yamaha USA site, there is reference to a 2009 teaser. 3pm eastern.
That's about 8pm UK time.
I can't see the big 10 making it's debut there though. I should imagine it'll be at Intermot.
Here's hoping.

Yep, Yamaha are doing their press pack thingy today, regarding the 2009 models; 'public' announcement tomorrow, afaik.

xtz750.com will have a chat room set-up, if the new super tenere makes an appearance.

The 2008 XTZ660 Tenere was announced about this time last year before the shows. Maybe they'll do the same again.

Yamaha Europe doesn't show it either...so we aren't the only ones not getting it.

Better get your K-Y ready. The only thing we are getting is a good screwing, as usual. Say what you want about the Suzuki V-Stroms, at least they had the balls to bring them to market.

We will continue to get screwed by the Japenese big four because they are a bunch of conservative wimps. Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki....even Suzuki to some extent, THANKS FOR NOTHING.............AGAIN!

i would not get too upset yet ,INTERMOT is just next month , and EICMA Milan is in november . remember this bike will be a completely new model , not just a rehash of already existing models as seen on their website . yamaha will want to make a big deal of it , and that means unveiling it before the world,s bike press who will be at both of the years major bike shows .

Even if they do release it, we in the US have a history of not having the same bike that you guys across the pond have available. We'll get another chrome laden barge or a 180hp sport bike that you can't ride anywhere but the track or down to the local strip to pose with your buds.

Guess I'll keep modding up the Wee.

This makes no sense really , look at how successful the wee strom has been in america , the other manufacturers must see this ? so why dont they want a piece of that sales action too ?

Actually, it does make a bit of sense. Sport bikes and cruizers are what lead the sales charts in the US. If you look on the Suzuki US web site they are still showing 2007 Wee's for sale. Not a good sign I wouldn't think.

I don't have any hard numbers, but I am sure they are available to back up my position. Motocycle mags support my position too. I wish I was wrong and I would be very happy if Yamaha would prove me wrong. Honda, the Verado...just another Strom although I do love the engine in the 1000 Verado, but not available in the US either.
