i only use the xgrip on my street bike. i plan my trips on google maps.

i put in my "couch spacers" with hyperlinks

i put all my points of interest with hyperlinks

for my tc250 dirt bike i use the finger grip mount. i can hit the whoops in 4th or 5th gear without shaking it out.

i have lots of friends that use the same setup on dirt bikes here in the pine barrens. makes it easy to se where youve gone and where you wanna go. we open the route on the google maps (1 button upload), zoom in to firecut level then add new lines where we wanna go. then open on phone.

the red line is the ride i road and the blue lines are the section i am gonna hit next. some of my friends wrap saran wrap around the phone on rainy days or put a rubberband on for good measure.

I used the RAM-B-272U mounted to the left forward handlebar clamp bolt with the ball facing down, then the short ram arm to the rugged mount. I think with the kit you already have the short arm. This places the Montana just below the speedo/tach and just left of the key, so all just fits like it's factory.
Of course some do not like mounting on the bars, but to me being a clean freak, it makes for simple mount not in the way of anything so function is fine and not set in a location that makes cleaning difficult or not possible.

That's how I do it too.

I have a LIFEPROOF case for my Samsung Galaxy S3. It is waterproof. So I don't worry about rain. I too use the RAM finger mounting. Hasn't come off the bike yet.

S10 Possibly Discontinued for 2014 ???

Just read in the link below that Yamaha is considering discontinuing production of the Super Tenere for 2014... Am I reading this right?

http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/motorcycles/2014models/2014-Yamaha.htm

Scroll down the page to see the list of "possibly discontinued" models in the line-up.

A "possibly" in a press list on the intertubes is trumped by Yamaha Canada stating that details for the 2014 will be released in 2 weeks, on November 4. What I find intersting is that the Yam Canada page was showing a silhouette and has taken the image off the page.

And I for one am waiting with bated breath for the announcement to weigh the (possible) advances in the '14 against a ECU flash for my '12.

A decent weight loss, and a fix for the poor fueling might be enough for me to trade, but honestly I don't know where they would get the weight from unless they changed motors...to the new FZ triple perhaps?

A Tenere Triple 900 would have my $$ sight-unseen.

Now I'm looking for mounting ideas. The cleaner the better. Pics would be awesome.

Thanks!
Mine's working great.

Using an SWM mount, details here:

More than rumor, Yamaha Canada's website has an announcement on it.

Look at the 2014 Models for the "Fall Roll Out". Something is missing.

Make that "had an announcement." Looks like they deleted their info. Probably to increase the "surprise" factor.
