go here http://www.xtz750.com/

go to the forum. then mods/projects, then search for xtz900

you'll get a few threads on it, not sure if they have offsite links or not...

Been to the presentation of the XT1200Z Super Tenere at YamahaNL Headquarters in Schiphol-Rijk. First the dealers had a meeting, afterwards us invited customers could join. There were three S10's on display: one standard First Edition, one fully kitted with original parts and one stripped to see all the engineering and details. All very impressive, good lookin' machinery, well engineered and solid built. I'd choose the blue one over the silver/grey one. But like I said, I'll stick to the "small" Tenere 660. Added are some piccies.
Greetz, Hans.

Wink Specially for the Short Bikers among us

Okay here are some pics, i took yesterday.

Ive done my best to get a ride, but it was impossible, the Bikes are for promotion only, a big red sticker on a inner frametube prohibeted road use.
(sounds kinda positive..)

What i saw, now i was able to get real close and personel dis make my heart skip a beat, the oldfashioned "make it easy to tool around" attitude of Yamaha is Back ! Everything was cleanly laid out and accesible, even the double plugs per cilinder ar completely blocking the plughole with nice and compact sparkplug/coil combinations. (pictures will follow later)

But the nmost amazing thing was its size, or betterto say lack of it, solo standing it looks a monstrisity, a sheer mass of enginering, but as soon as you get some attending lady to pose on it, the real usability gets in focus.

Relaxed with a flat foot on the ground, she is contemplating where the money will be found :-)

The lady in question is the 1,72 cm "big" Dafne de Jong from Ride-On, she easily managed to get the S10 on its wheels, and not to forget, back on its centre stand...

The bike standing there relieved of all the bulky plastics, showed how nice and clean everything is thought out, would be nice if they go and develop a "Rally-re-Vamp" jacket for it, because its a real steal without the boulemic plastics, not much wider then its 660 brethren !

Especially the radiator suspension was cleverly thought out, it can fold back in its rubber suspension so it folds back to the headstock, getting fully away of the nearing underground during a spill. And the little crasbars under the tank are in reality also nice grabhandles, to hoist the beast out of awkward situations :-)

More on the technical details will become available soon on our own site although that will be in Dutch

Man that's a big exhaust can! Nice opportunity for aftermarket to shave some pounds there. Thanks for the pics, nice to see a "real" person sitting on it.

172 cm times .3937 = 67.7164 inches. She appears to be 5'7 3/4" tall...

Shall we say 5'8" and looking forward to more photos of the Tenere, with the bodywork off !

Thanks for posting R3B !

The bike in the background is the conceptbike, which toured from the Tokyo Motorshow all over the world to different bikeshows. That was the concept Super Tenere, with some parts and blue and white cloth. So no XT660 Tenere. There must be some piccies of that concept bike in this thread, probably somewhere in the first pages.
