imagination???

you blasted of to yami what we need & don't need (no FI? this isn't the 90s)
like somehow all there work on this new bike is gonna suddenly change.

this bike seems to be as close to what many in the japanese camp have been asking/begging for for years and you're THAT guy negging on it already.

stroms are so popular because it is as close as we've gotten to that perfect modern japanese beast (in the us) to this point, accepting all the faults it has.

geez some people are just never happy with what is.

that's to be expected. europe is the hotbed for these bikes...
however the DS tides (sales) are a changin' in the us.
i would not conclude anything from that.

for many shaft drive is ideal for this kind of bike. like i said it's not a dirtbike, not even a big ds thumper. it's a beast with world travel over all types of terrain written all over it. it what many 1000 strom owners (the japanese beast group) wished suzuki would build and instead yami did.
You're right. Was a bit negative at first but now I have thought about it a bit more. Shaft, this looks like a much more slim and dirt worty drive shaft then i.e. the beemers. Think it might be the right thing after all. The dimensions of the bike reminds a bit about the rock solid 660, a bike that is heavy and slow in the specs but tons of fun when you actually ride it. Yamaha might have pulled it off once again.

It will most probably be cheaper and more reliable then the competitors, might not be the Super10 of my dreams but I'm getting a bit excited to see where this bike will end up.

competition is good. better and fresher ideas may emerge from the new bike, that can later be added to the specs list of the best

ANYBODY will have to go some to make something better than the original 950 "S".

Could the KTM shift better...............yeah
Could the KTM be easier to service................yeah
Could the KTM have a more comfy seat.............uh YEAH!
Could the KTM handle better..............once you install stiffer fork springs, NOPE!
Could the KTM look cooler.............................no
Could the KTM ever leave me.........................NO FUCKING WAY!

Oh, the Ducati MultiStresser 1198 Pouusour thing........it's got 17's! Yeah, THOSE will work just dandy in the dirt!

Ride On!
Chris
