MCN (so take it with a slight pinch of sodium) are saying the shaft, brakes, and wheels are production-spec, just chromed for effect on the 'sculpture'.

i put $ that every piece shown is found on the real bike and this is the real prototype. maybe not a finished bike but darn close.

For sure there is something with that pic that make it look like the real deal.

The greek site had that pic published a day or so before the official Yamaha cloth/pics hit the web. But at the same time it looks like a small toy or plastic model.

That is what I think. The proportions are off, and the edges are too thick.

I'm sure its just a small model that they got a picture of. I just wish they had gotten more pictures all around it.

If i remember well, it was on the greek site several days before the tokyo show. There is an unquestionable degree of ressemblence.
Maybe its not a spy pic but a pic with the blessings of yamaha themselves photoshoped to give a clue but hide details. The more hype created the more publicity it takes, no?
Of course the hole in this thinking, is why is it not more widespread and can only be found in one site.
I tend to think that while the yumy people have a finished product in terms of engineering, they haven't decided yet on the wrapping.

Hope they stick to the cloth, after a hard day out in the woods just throw it in the washer. Excellent!

And with a little bleach, blood, or fabric dye, you could "repaint" it every day!

might be a mock up model, but since there are so many similarities to the yami show model, the real bike is gonna look something close.
there might be some design differences, but for the most part that is what it's gonna be.

remember honda's mock up?
not some random design, but 95% representation of the real deal.
the last 5% keeps your ultimate designs hidden until release.

what you see is what you're gonna get from yami.
yami went farther than honda by showing concept & actual production pieces.

i'd expect more of this from mfg in the future.
it's a concept that creates tons of buzz.

either way, the japanese bike mfg are not spending precious $ on a random show vehicle (that never sees production) like the practice seen in the auto world.
