Actually in the US, considering the features it offers, it IS the cheapest. This perception of it being expensive is strictly from the other countries who pay a lot more. I got mine in the ballpark of $12,800-$12,900. (he also threw in heated grips for way less than retail) That includes ABS, adjustable traction control, fully adjustable suspension, handguards, and centerstand. (and I'm leaving out a whole lot of features that make the bike attractive like a 6 gallon tank). And a lot of people got way better deals than me. (Some people paid under $12,000) It's an insanely good deal over here The only direct competitor with features like that is the 1200GS and it's way more money in terms of both purchase price and service cost. |

You guys/gals are killing me!
I've got a DL650 in the barn, ready for another season. I've got an offer that would get me a Tenere First Edition for 10.000,00 EUR (13.800,00 USD) when I trade in my DL. I'm about a sweaty ballsack-hair away from picking up the phone and calling the dealer...must...resist...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

So I caved. Called in, they got in stock;
First Edition silver + blue Special Edition silver + Blue 2011 models silver, blue, black, white coming in May/June Gonna wine and dine the woman tonight, then ask if she wants to come to the dealer tomorrow. She was pillion on 2 rides late last year (started dating in August) and she loved it. Really wants to ride herself too. Infact she just bought herself a complete set of gear a week ago, so she doesn't have to borrow someone elses stuff anymore. I'm going to have a look at it, and have a look at the editions. I already decided I don't want the factory luggage, so a 2011 plain model with options seems like the way to go. Unless that ends up being more expensive ofcourse. Damn you ADVrider, DAMN YOU! ![]() Yeah at F&J but that's after deducting 4000€ they give for my V-Strom, the First Edition after discounts was 14250€, Got 4000€ for the V-Strom and another 250€ off. |

aah, that explains a lot!
seems the wifey/gf won't be too much of a problem. ;) all the reviews of the original luggage system are quite negative imo, so that's a wise decision. i got MM's on my xt660z and i'm happy with them, and when the time is there i'm going to get myself the S10, i'll use them for the big brother as well. (not the cheapest tho)
