Yeah there wasn't a lot of room on the Strom either. Possible to mount under the fairing with some farting around, but couldn't be bothered so just bolted it to one of the crash bar mounts on the right side of the engine. Makes a good talking point (what the hell is that thing?). Also have a theory that it's louder that way, unmuffled by the fairing.

Wouldn't bother me if I had to do something similar on the S10... although llamapackers solution might be a better way to go.

I kept mine off the Strom as well...love that horn, as a NJ Tpke commuter I used it every day, just a polite "ahem" with the ability to say "hey fucker!"

Good tool, not a magic force field...but good...

I'm not so much into loud horns, but have often wished I had a Cell phone jammer on my bike - just HATE cagers farking around on their cell phones and not paying attention where they are going - In South Africa having a cell phone in your hand while driving is against the law, but in South Africa "the law is an ass", there to be ignored and mostly not policed

Yeah me neither - I don't use it very often. But I figure if I use it it's because I really need it, and at those times would much rather have a loud horn than the pathetic and embarrassing squeak that come from most stock ones. I'm almost certain that someone sitting in a car with windows wound up and radio on, would not hear a thing. At least with a Stebel or similar I stand a small chance of getting their attention.

Then instead of pretending to pay attention to the road they will be trying to figure out why their phone isn't working and paying NO attention to the road. At times a jammer would be nice but I think it would get you prison time here in the states. Using marine radios on shore can get you arrested and a hell of a fine (learned the hard way by some friends of mine).

What's involved with pulling the horn apart any gotchas we should know about?

Can you post that a different way? I am not a member, and it will not let me view links, or pics.

It was pretty easy job. Thread I used to get the info here:

P.S. Not sure if you need to be a member to see this, but lots of pictures with good description.

Thanks for the link. The project doesn't look all that complicated.

10K between oil changes is a lot mileage. I'm going to go with every 5K or less on mine I'd rather like to keep the oil somewhat fresh that way the engine should last a bit longer.

5K sounds reasonable. 10k seems too long for me. I change my oil every 3K regardless of vehicle, but I'm a bit obsessive in that regard.
