I only wish for the Touratech panniers due to added space for longer travel.

I have the stock panniers by Yamaha, they came with the bike and unfortunate they are crappy. They are good for short travels with a few items. The unlock mechanism to take the pannier off the bike broke the other day and now I can’t take the pannier off. On top of that the lock is super tight and it bends your key when you open the pannier.

Besides that I dropped the bike without any damage to the exterior of the pannier. They are super water tight and they are the exact width of the handle bars so filtering and lane splitting is super easy. They remove the worries as far as, "how much space do I really have to squeeze in there..."

Another S10 rider here bought the Touratech panniers and I have to say they are really nice. They offer plenty of space with a smart design. I only wish they could work with the same mounts to switch between the two. I guess I have to figure out how to take off the pannier that is broken before I can wish I could fit the Touratech ones on the same mounts.

Those Moto Shop panniers look great. They are exactly what I was searching for, many thanks. I will be in Italy this summer, great timing.

+1 on enjoying the TT Zega Pro bags. I also put the TT reinforcing kit inside the bags just in case of a very serious go down. Haven't field tested that yet.........knock on wood.

BTW.......if you go the TT route I would suggest you get some 8mmX200 mm bolts, lock washers and nuts for the right hand side bag where it mounts to the hanger for the right rear peg. Reusing the OEM bolts that only are secured by the threads of the larger piece (without a washer and nut) is not a tough enough solution. It will tear out the threads in the hanger for the footpegs. Mine now are bolted through with lock washers and nuts on the interior side. Much stronger now. YRMV but I am happy with this improvement. Cheers!

That is a great looking bike and set up. That white is really nice but not an option for us in the USA. Do you have any idea what rack that is on the rear of the bike? It sure looks good for strapping on a dry bag etc.

Thoughts: it the racks are symmetrical this supports different size bags best, smaller on exhaust side...if racks are assymetric then THIS supports same size bags...allows bigger on left, no?

Didnt someone just say the opposite?

I believe you have it backward - if you are looking for overall symmetry of the final configuration WITH bags installed.

Asymmetric racks with different size bags = symmetrical overall
Symmetric racks with same size bags = symmetrical overall

Colorider is confirming what I posted about the Hepco Becker racks for the Super Ten. Asymetrical racks equal symetrical overall if you use different size bags.

Hey Guys, I'm sorry to say that I had a fall on a dirt road last weekend; but I am glad to say that AltRider Crash bars and Skid plate work!

I was wondering if anyone knew what type of grease I should use on the rear wheel drive hub splines?

I got some Molybdenum grease from the local auto parts store - it says it is suitable for drive shaft splines - but I thought I might check with the collective brains here. I trust you guys a lot more than the pimply youth that served me at the shop.....

(Hope this does not turn into an "oil" thread.....)
