Internet launch feb 24, live feb 25.
I wish Yamaha success with this, even though it's a pre-credit crunch bike launched in a post-credit crunch world economy. But maybe that's the risk when you move as slowly as a jap corporation. Time will tell..

Reading from the YAMAHA MOTOR EUROPE site is clear that this bike will never hit roads, here in Italy, unitil 2011.
If you want one for this summer you have to book it via Internet immediatly, with no testing nor even a chance to see the real bike. Yamaha has made a lot of noise for nothing here... On 2011 probably Honda will present a XLV1200 with V4 and dual clutch and also KTM might upate its ADV with the 1200cc engine (and maybe launch the 700cc, sperem). Good luck Yamaha! |

I start to believe that Yamaha is up to something big.
I think this will really be a competition for BMW GS 800 and KTM 950. The shadowy outline of the ST 1200 kinda betrays a lean bike, not a behemoth. Anyway, they more than have the proper technology to create an under 500 lbs. bike with serious anyroad capabilities (did I omit off-road?) http://www.yamaha-motor-europe.com/super-tenere/

Facebook statement made... and not an idle threat! I will buy a 660 if it comes to the USA in it's current form or better.
