Faster? Quicker? Are you just idiots? Farther is the real question. BMW service intervals and dealer only idiot lights should be enough to answer your question if you actually ride the bike. Never mind the incompetence of the German engineers.

The only reason to buy a BMW is if you own part share in a BMW dealership.

Pretty much everyone here bought a big D/S bike to win drag races.

The gentleman whos GS 1200 I ran off with last GS 1150 had over 80,000 miles with
only normal seal changes. This thread is full of past BMW owners who switched for
a reason. I didn't buy a BMW for several reasons. I tend to always buy Japanese bikes.

His GS had nice suspension and the brakes were exceptional. Better passing power
and felt very planted in the turns. I'm not planning on running down to the dealer
to sign up. The peace of mind thing means a lot to me, even if just imagined.

"Incompetence of German engineers"? Really??? Maybe they could hire you as
a consultant.

Sounds like I was wrong in thinking the low-end response with the reflash would be as just strong as it is with the clutch mod. How much softer is it?

You have to remove the 300lbs of tents, sleeping bags,pot and pans if you want to drag race a BMW. I raced my pals 08 GS12 with my S10 and I jump slightly ahead up to 60mph then he pulls ahead. The 2010 GSs are faster still than the 08s. The S10 is definitly gruntier down low though, like at 2000rpm where the Beamers just about stall. Both great bikes and I've had both. Overall I'll take my S10 anytime.

Today I swapped out the OEM Philips H7 bulbs for Philips Extreme Vision and being used to 3-tab H4s, which only slot in one way, I didn't pay attention to the tab placement when I pulled out the OEM bulbs. Wondering whether the single tab goes in the 12:00 position as it doesn't fit neatly into that slot there, or anywhere else for that matter (tried to fit it in the wider slot in the 7:00 position resulting in a crap beam pattern). Clarification much appreciated.

The reflash removes the off idle hiccup, smooths out the throttle response, removes the lower
gear neutering, and by seat of the pants improves the higher gear performance as well.

It's also been dyno tested to improve HP.

To me there is still a tinge more umphh just off idle with the clutch mod. I may just
pull the fuse and forget about it. It was a sort of "everyone else is doing it" jump on the
band wagon sort of thing anyway. I still highly recommend the reflash.

No one can accuse me of ever underpacking!





Like I said, I have no desire to jump ship for a BMW. Now a KTM for the off road part?

So were you trying to figure out where to pack the leaf blower in that pic? If you could run it on 12V it could provide the extra thrust you need in your next drag race.

I just switched my stock bulbs for the H7 PIAA bulbs and mine fit/ went back into the 7 O' clock position without issue..
