Next year's Voices From Both Sides has been scheduled for May 10th, 2014.

Article on this year's event, just to refresh those memories, would be here:

They're sending me a Highvelocitygear.com Juggernaught

Currently riding a compression Acerbis but my sense is is that it's a bit on the light duty side.

I see the combat riding armor in those photos

Looked all over the house, in the safe, and in our files for my TVIP and tourist card from the ride earlier this year - the epic voyage with Schizzman, Miguelito, Jimmex etc. to San Miguel, Apatzingan and Sayulita and other points.

After about an hour, I realized it was.......still on the bike

Relief

+1

I slid down the highway in Wayne's Motoport gear east of Puerto Vallarta and got up without a scratch.

Earlier this year I showed Miguelito the area where this happened.

I would most definitely rather be geared up and keep the MedJet card tucked away than to have to "take the ride" for something like poor choice of boots leading to a busted ankle.

Have you ever found money you tucked away in your "secret bike spot" months later?

I found a wad of dollars and pesos changing out a battery last year - it was like winning the lottery

Just more pathetic "downrange" travel remarks to scare away other travelers. You're a bad person, Tricepilot. I can't imagine anyone EVER reading one of your pitiful Ride Reports and being inspired to explore Mexico on a motorcycle. Never happen.

Errr, see you in Parras in a few weeks. I'll be waiting at the brandy barrel.

Nope. But my Dr. once found a chunk of Alaskan Butt Pad I had "tucked away" during a ride with SlowOldGuy.

That count??

Parras or Paris?

The Monster Energy Grand Prix de France is this weekend

I thought you could use your COTA seat license in a reciprocal arrangement with the French and get us more tickets?

Sjoerd Bakker, SR, you, me, Jimmex etc. I think could go another round of that action

The day of the race, I'll be on the train to Marseille. Too bad the timing didn't work out - one day earlier and could have watched French rider Randy de Puniet ride to victory in his home country.

Thanks again for getting us tickets to that event in Austin recently

I've resisted trading in the Rocket III for a Ducati 1199 Panagale R ever since

That was a great weekend! Good to see everyone.
Parras not Paris. Paris is too downrange even for me.

SR's Google Earth GPS rendering (first pass - will be revised some) of the 19 June 2013 Durango to Maz back country High Sierra ride.

It's hard to beat a riding suit for off road riding. It is just such a good invention. Yesterday I threw on the old school chest protector and elbow pads just for nostalgia.

I need to edumacate myself on some of this new-fangled off road stuff. What do you wear underneath that Juggernaut Suit? Protective something or just a long-sleeve t-shirt?

When I get out of here and can do some riding I need to either blouse my Aerostich pants or find some more suitable off road oriented pants. These arrived today and if things stay on schedule I'll probably get a pair of Sidi Crossfires - opinions seem to vary on whether the Discovery or the Crossfire works better for anything short of competition and I figure that I'll try them both and make up my own mind.
