We must have cut up on those steps for about 20 minutes (the kids were on break). I love these Mexican women. They are one of the many resources of getting the good 411 on what's happening. All that's required is that one act gentlemanly.

There sits the San Rafael, TX bank at the end of the street in the background. It was a gutted shell when I last visited. Hopefully it will be restored to something nice.

Mike,

Well, guess who we met at dinner tonight? Bob and I happened to sit next to this beautiful family and as we got to know them we expressed our interest in locating the Hacienda where the Wild Bunch was filmed. Turns out three of their party had bit parts in the film, shared some personal anecdotes and gave us the Hacienda owner's contact info. Just incredible.

Not really. We are at the house you and I stayed at three years ago in Leon. The last two days we have gone out. Amazing roads. Very fast though. From Leon North then East towards San Felipe...highly recommended. Very fast though. I keep Jaxton reigned in as much as possible...but he wants to be out front a bit. I have a hard time keeping up with him on the KLR. We have had no panniers the last two days and that has caused much more canyon carving. Last night it took me a few hours to come down off the adreniline rush. Then we want back to San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo and Guanajuato again today. Topping that off with a 90 min diversion from the pavement onto the dirt to try to find a way from Guanajuato to the road that goes to San Felipe. It shows up on Guia Roji...its not there in real life though. But a blast...truly!

The Plan

Trice...

I don't know if we will see you on the way down. We leave Leon Sunday morning. Heading due south to Ixtapa / zihuat. to hook up with EmilianoXL650. Then south to Oaxaca. I keep wanting to start a ride report to post some pics because I feel bad putting pics of my fun trip on this Is Mexico Safe. but it's been busy. Just got home from seeing Man of Steel with my bro's inlaws and brother and sister in law. I'll get some pics going soon. Today we looked for a dirt route from Guanajuato towards San Felipe. Could not find it...but found some Dirt / rocks to ride in for a couple hours and it was a kick in the pants.

Dirt pix:

Jax went the wrong way and got his bike high centered. Could not figure out how to get it off the rock. I had to pull the rock out. Very dangerous these mexico rocks.

SMA did not seem to dangerous today. A huge wedding outside the Catedral and Parkour Youths having a blast:

The four of them did a front flip at the same time. Mexico seemed pretty safe to me on this Saturday!

Sounds like I'm missing out! Hope you both have great riding. How long is the trip, 3 weeks?

Cuídense.

I'm proud of you guys. You have obviously learned how to blend in, get the 411, and make friends in the process. As you know, all it takes is being a gentleman. T'is an easy process to enjoy Mexico once the fear factor is down.

I'm surprised Trice had a shirt on. He has been working those abs pretty hard getting ready for this dirt ride! Happy Father's Day!

I love Mexico!
