I don't want to remove it because it seems like a really important topic and a lot of knowledgeable people have spent a lot of time weighing in. And I don't have a way to put a disclaimer in each post and anyway I wouldn't want to editorialize your posts. So I guess the thing to do is make you aware that some people feel you're giving a false sense of security and you might want to add a disclaimer.

"Is New Orleans safe?" Thread
The Govt of France recently issued travel warning to their citizens coming to New Orleans and we would hate for anyone to think that someone on ADV implied that it is safe to travel here

Nothing AARP about that name.
That would require imagination; not just PC

How about this title: "If you make safety decisions based on unsupported data on Internet bulletin boards... you just might be a moron!".

From what I can tell from the behavior of law enforcement types in San Clemente and Orange County, if you are Mexican it is highly discouraged!

I think you are the only other person I have heard reference that movie.
I have tried to figure out the name of that movie for years. Thanks!!! I should have known I would find it on ADV.

It is now in my Netflix queue. I can't wait.

Before we go all Captain Boycott on the site, I think it is worth considering that we should actually stand solidly behind Baldy et al who are providing the forum and are taking the heat. Some utter moron sat on a virtual bar stool in here and decided that his seat mate's advice was authoritative and as a result invoked liability for Baldy et al. It doesn't matter that any right thinking judge would throw out such a tort, getting the decision would cost quite a few dollars in a US court. In the face of the stated reasons for the change, I applaud Baldy's decision to allow the thread to continue with a change of name.

But maybe it could be changed to "The thread formerly known as IMS".
