Adios Durango

And on to the Copper Canyon this morning.

Always love Durango. Always love Mazatlan. Not so much being tied to the schedule of canned rallys. While BMW Club Durango knocked it out of the park in terms of rally events, me, Jimmex and a few others would probably have rather spent the time exporing on our own. If SR did not have to go to Idaho for business, we would have hooked up with him to explore the Mennonite country north of here. Next year the BMW rally is in Uruapan. I will probably skip it. When the rally was in San Cristobal last year, I stayed behind by myself in Oaxaca and had the better time.

The Colorado Durango and the Mexico Durango are both excellent places to explore on a motorcycle. Maybe I should get a Dodge Durango.

After a delightful ride across the desert and my first bowl of menudo in 4Cienegas with Bato, I got the homing jones and did a big ride all the way home. What a blast this trip was. I can't wait to go back.

I'll ride down there with you any time.

Any time I can get off work, that is.

Was truly a great trip.

I was in Neuvo Progresso Monday and Tuesday last week for the follow up to my implants at the dentist in March.
I didn't take the bike across the border mainly because I didn't have time to go anywhere interesting. I also didn't want the border hassle reentering the states.
The armoured car that was stationed there in March and the soldiers were gone. Guess that means all is well now ?

I got pulled over for speeding just as I was about to get on 77 north . I wasn't given a ticket due to the LEO telling me he was ammused by my mode of travel {nearing the short end of a 6500 mile ride on a 30 y.o. Yamaha }, But when I told him I'd been to the dentist in Mexico, he got all conserned.
"Sir are you aware of the situation in Mexico ?"

Well yeah, I've just come from there, was there yesterday and two days in March. It is what it is.

The thing that struck me as funny was if the guy was on the other side of the border and speaking Spanish there's no way I would have known he was from the U.S. side of the fence.
