Businessman's bar. Where I was a regular. And there were seldom women in there. The men's room didn't have crappers so if you needed to use the can you either had to use the women's room (which was VERY! nice) or the rest rooms at the nearby taco place that was owned by the same family.

Trust me Amigo, I drank there and ate there often enough that I knew the drill. I'm pretty tough, but they were good to me.

With that said, yeah ... I have seen some really nasty Mexican johns. And some nice ones. It's kinda luck of the draw at times, but while I appreciate the way Mexico does things there is an element of asking with a smile on your face and you might be pleasantly surprised. Or not.

Man, I don't speak Spanish but I think I got the message. There's definitely trouble with the way some systems are working and they need to be fixed. Both sides of the border too, not just the Mexicans. Thanks for posting that one.

Parked off 6th St. to meet GSSwede at Babalu Cigars and talk México. Stopped to admire this vintage scoot
when a GS with Swedish plates rolls by.

We get Ollie situated

then head to Babalu for a puff and a glass of Jamesons.

Then off to Iron Cactus for 'Ritas and dinner.

Back at the house doing a little trip planning before the Swede heads out for Big Bend country enroute to Copper Canyon and Mexico City.

That video is the edited version.
The "director's cut" includes a 30sec clip of an ADV rider being chased across 3 state lines by truckloads of narcos.
He finally finds a safe refuge in a bathroom but there is no toilet seat.

Damn shame about Mexican politics, if only things were so cut and dried, simple, forgiving, share the love oriented, friendly, and kind hearted as US politics!

And the Swede is off to Fredericksburg then on to Big Bend to enter México at Presidio/Ojinaga.

Que le vaya bien, Orvar.

If only México were closer to God and not so close to the US.

But then we'd have farther to go to enjoy México.

The ride: DRZ400supermoto full FMF exhaust (loud) with knobbies. The Plan: adventure and dirt in Baja.

The question: Do I need a spark arrestor?

thanks, todd

Northern Mexico is not safe. My wife and I got these words of wisdom from 2 Germans who live in Queretaro. We met these guys at Las Posas in Xilitla yesterday on our way out. They were riding big street machines. They said they never go to northern Mexico because of all the drug stuff. We are in trouble. Tonight we are in Zacatecas. Sunday we are heading to Durango and Monday down the Devil's Spine. And next week north to the US. We haven't checked lately because we've been having to much fun for the last 3 months in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
Have any bikers been shot in the north lately?

Don't go to northern Mexico, and don't ride the Espinazo.

Pickup truck loads of Dangerous Sinaloans are waiting to ambush you.

They also have signs warning you about cancer for some reason.

Damn! Not Zacatecas! You will die!

They run racecars thru the streets at night!

Kids on donkeys too! Without protective devices!

I think I saw a couple Chupacarbes there too! (all bigfoot & cupacabra pics are fuzzy. sorry)

Things are so bad in Zacatecas, they have to hire professional sweepers to clean up the messes!

Listen to the Germans and leave Mexico NOW!

that will leave more for me....

Don't even get me started on the dangerous and evil persons inhabiting and infesting Durango.

Beware the Geologic Overlord they call "SR" when in Durango. He's got some international scheme going... he keeps referring to 'rocks' and how special they are. I surreptitiously caught a photo of him meeting with his minions. I think the agenda of this meeting was about something called mol'e or cerveza. Probably two things no good gringo should ever experience. CNN had a special report about that last night: "The Dangers of Oaxacan Mole"

Many of those present in that picture owe their male pattern baldness to having bravely ridden through northern Mexico.
