Both accounts have been discredited.

You are telling me that 6 vehicles would chase you on a bike and not run you over or shoot you?

You are just trolling for no good reason.

You have traveled in and out of Mexico as well as Central America for years. I am sure you have personal stories to share in order to clarify your stance. If you do not have any personal experiences to share than you are misinforming people.

When were you stopped at a fake road block and robbed.

When were you approached by gun waving bandits?

When were you robbed at gun/knife point?

When was your life placed in any danger, in any way at all while traveling in Mexico?

Enough with your hearsay and enough with your internet narco news.

+1. No one comes here for a daily recap of narcoblog. If we wanted that we would just go there. Totally worthless and takes away from the fun of this blog.

From observing his behavior, my guess is that he got drunk, got belligerent, then got his ass kicked (hard) by a Mexican and now he hates Mexico and all Mexicans and he moved to imaginary France.

Animo, you mention that both accounts were discredited. I know of one of those to be suspect, but not the other.
Was that latest "event" discredited, too?

Not to dig stuff up again, but this kind of info is handy. Thanks.

Reading comments from ChangoGS, I can't help but respond by quoting a private email I received from a riding buddy. It was in response to a series of exchanges on another Adv thread. The discussion was about "getting off your ass and taking a long trip". It seems so applicable here. This thread is about information, issues about travel in Mexico, how to deal with the reality there including the drug issues, great places to visit, what it's like from those with "rubber on the ground", and what Mexico is all about. My gosh, Mexico is peaceful when I read about trips folks on Horizons Unlimited make, riding through war torn parts of the Mideast and some sections of Africa. Every country has risks of travel, including the States, where I live. It becomes a decision if the risks are worth the rewards, or if the risks only become an excuse to stay home.

I love how so many guys make excuses why they aren't doing the things they want. I don't care if it's riding motorcycles or taking on a new job, everyone has excuses for why they aren't doing the things they want to. My wife won't let me, I don't have vacation, I don't have the money. All of these are hurdles that every one of us has to overcome. But the difference is some let it stop them and some find ways to make it happen.

Ships Are Safe in the Harbour
(poem, author unknown)

All I live for is now
All I stand for is where and how
All I wish for are magic moments

As I sail through change
My resolve remains the same
What I choose are magic moments

Because ships are safe in the harbour
But that is not what ships are made for
The mind could stretch much further
But it seems that is not what our minds are trained for

We call for random order
You can't control Mother nature's daughter

Ships are safe in the harbour
But that is not what ships are built for

The witch hunter roams
The scary thing is that he's not alone
He's trying to down my magic moments

As we sail through change
Ride the wind of a silent rage
And sing laments of magic moments

i truly want to ride to mexico. i love mezcal and mexican food. i love the colors they paint their houses from the pictures i've seen. i love a good adventure. that being said, i have a new goldwing and i need a wee sgrom for my ride but that's not conna happen for a couple years. meanwhile, i'm chomping at the bit to go. if my wife and i wanted to fly there for a couple weeks where should we fly into for MAX FUN? can bikes be rented? i'm not interested in the cruise ship towns...
