Does Mexico have Ikea?
What's the big deal with a little horse meat?

You should see some of the food we eat here. Yes, it's delicious.

Bourdain and Zimmern have been chiming in on Twitter and saying that horse is actually pretty good and should be on US menus (evidently it's illegal in the USA).

Someone was telling me they have been to burro roasts and that burro is actually pretty good.

Probably not so much about it being horse as it is about skirting controls. I'm only a coupla missed meals from eating dog, for that matter.

Used to fly a friend of mine around in his plane (whole different story there) and he'd tell me about his childhood in the Philippines. So I asked him about eating dog. Oh yeah, he said, we kept dogs for eating. I asked if they named them like pets. Sure, he said, that's how we'd pick a dog to eat. Call it to the porch by name, he said.

You can find that old lamp between the arches...Yes, your friends and family will tell you to leave it alone, but you can't, because it's Mexico, the genie is out of the lamp and he ain't goin' back in anytime soon!
Beautifully stated MikeMike. thanks

They stopped by here today on their way home after 5 weeks in Mexico. They are routing to catch some jazz tonight on 6th Street or some such music venue in Austin town.
Isn't somebody going to bitch that SMA to Laredo is 560 miles?

57D, pay the tolls, hammer down.

I'll bitch because its not me making the trip.
Any Mexico trip is better than no Mexico trip.
Well, except maybe Donnie's trip. I'm not signing up for that ride.

Don't encourage him. He keeps rubbing that "lamp" and he's going to get arrested or go blind...

I used to have dinner regularly at a Chinese restaurant in Raleigh. One day one of my cat's went missing. I jokingly asked the cook and owner if he had my cat in the back. He looked at me and said "Cat? No. Dog."

OK ... I got sober pretty quickly at that point.

Anyway, what he was trying to tell me wasn't that he had a dog in the kitchen, but that he had cooked dog when in the Taiwanese military.

"Dog no good. Dog greasy."

That's the "Salma tickle" you are referring to!

The "Tickle Me Salma" blow up doll should be available this spring at The Seal Club.

Depends on whether it's black dog or white dog. So I'm told.
