Yep. I use a one gallon zip lock bag and store it in my tool case.
The MSR bottle will be a great improvement.

That's easy for you to say. I'm in Colombia looking to head to the Venezuelan border next week.

Should be interesting to see if I can get in.

And yes, Mexico is safe. Venezuela? Probably not so much.

Saludos,
Juan Loco Gringo

They'll let you in. You have American dollars.

Might be smart to continue south and try Venezuela on your return. But whatever you do I know you'll do it with style and provide us with some great reading.

Suerte Amigo.

My answer to prevent oil leaking all thru the luggage is two approaches.
Motor oil in a plastic container gets set in side a couple of plastic bags inside
a cut off gallon water jug or milk jug . If it should leak nothing gets spoiled.
On the KLR I have bracket on the outside of the luggage for the chain oil
Never a problem .

I've loaded up the dirt version of the Tricemobile and will be heading out to Big Bend/Terlingua/Study Butte/Lajitas etc. in my new role as adjunct Federal Border Inspection Agent.

Daily de-brief at the Starlight and the Boathouse in Ghost Town, and La Kiva down the road.

Central Texas HOG chapter went through there recently. They dropped La Kiva off the ride destinations due to a non-navigable parking lot.

I guess that means they didn't take the chapter to the Hot Springs.
