A ton of regulars on the thread are in Austin for the MotoGP this weekend. They've come from all over including Mexico and Canada.

While all are motorcycle aficionados, I really know what they came to see

In other news, SR will be taking his brand new WR450 back to Mexico

Sjoerd did an open lap on his Strom and set a course record

We are all appreciative of Schizzman's seat license which enabled us to get great tickets

Track food is priced at Ducati levels

Jimmex spends all his time with the paddock girls

MotoGP

Caught some of the action at the MotoGP on the big screen TV at Fritz Cafe on the malecon here in La Paz. Seemed like it must have been qualifying, didn't look like they were racing. That being said... those guys are completely nuts! Way off the side in some of those turns... bikes at unbelievable angles... the audio was not on on the TV so I know little about what was going on... except for one Honda and one Ducati I don't even know what kind of bikes they are, too many sponsor decals, or what displacement...can someone clue me in... not much about the bikes on the website... coming into one turn they were putting their left leg out, sometimes foot to ground like a flat tracker... what's that about? stabilization after hard braking for the turn? the camera didn't really follow them all the way through the turn but it may have been the first of S turns. Quite a beautiful track they have built their in Austin. Is that where they had the F1 race?

Just so you know, Magdalena de Kino, Son is safe. Cleanest town I've ever been to in MX. Only complaint was the food portions were too small. Had to eat multiple times to maintain overweight goals.

Yep. Same track. Try to join us for F1 or Moto-GP next time.

4/21/13 La Paz to Loreto

Mexico 1...240 miles of mostly flat, boring, hot, two lane until about the last forty miles and then it gets interesting...you descend from the plains through the mountains on some beautiful twisty road...nothing at Puerto Escondido but a marina. Someone has put a lot of money into infrastructure there recently...concrete roads with street lights...curbs...big leveled tracts...looks like it is poised for development...Loreto is a sweet little town...not going to have time to do it right...some interesting buildings, inns and restaurants
