Be careful, a test ride is how I ended up with mine. You'll forget about any trepidation regarding the looks once you hit the road!

On another note, the only touring HD that could come close to the vision in performance is maybe a CVO Road glide...research that price comparison!

If I was in the market for a full on touring bike the Vision would be top of my list. Looks, reliablity, price, resale etc it kicks HD arse all day long.

He had me until looks. I like Victory, and I think the motor in particular is superior to the ones currently offered by H-D, but Victory makes some seriously ugly motorcycles.

The resale thing is so completely wrong, I can't even begin to understand where someone would get that idea.

The completed auctions on ebay have only one sold Vision listed. An 09 sold for 14. Resale is not one of its strong points, but it really is a small factor in my personal purchase equation.

I loved the Vision the minute I saw it. Wasn't to thrilled with the seating position the first time I sat on one though shortly after their intro. I thought I would get over the looks eventually, but I haven't and I still love the looks. Still need a test ride.

I could buy 3 Guzzi's for the price of one Vision or Road Glide though. That does enter in to my equation.

The Sport for sale in the Flea Market. A Coppa Italia, and a Cal Vintage. Bet I could get them all for less than the Vision or Road Glide.

I'll admit that I am no HD fan. I think they need to spend more money on making their bikes better and less on the items in the boutique. Anytime HD gets involved in racing the rules are changed to make them competitive, that's just plain embarrassing. I do like the fact that they are mechanically simple and are engineered well. So, if you love them, that's cool but except that not everyone does.

The Harleys are better looking by far. Unfortunately, except for the touring bikes and a couple other isolated models, it doesn't appear they were designed to be ridden.

Just test rode a Vision today. Unlike my last test ride of a CC Tour in warm sunny Ca. at Arlen Ness, today was a balmy 31 degrees out here in Utah. No better way to test protection from the elements like a nice cold test ride. Loved the way the bike road. You just don't feel the weight the second you get moving. Flicks back and forth easily enough and had really nice acceleration. And man was it comfy.

I'll be ordering one later this week!

Just make sure you're okay with the saddlebag capacity (in the real world they hold about as much as my old LeatherLykes), and if you spend a lot of your time at 90+ you will see 25MPG.

My Vision is easily the most comfortable bike Ive owned. Ive ridden thousands of miles in 30 degree weather.....just wearing my regular leather jacket and gloves. Basically if you can stand outside in it......I can ride in it.

The sidebags are an odd shape.....but there are reliefs cut into the lid. Im not a BIG fan of them but once you get the technique down they arent to bad.

Hell Ive seen 14mpg before......heading across Kansas in a windstorm....two up.....pulling a trailer. I was getting DAMN tired of stopping for gas.

If you leave it in 6th......and stay around 75ish I usually get 36 to 38. Today I put a couple hundred on at the speed limit of 55 (it was cold and rainy) and saw about 44.

But 75ish is pretty boring unless the curves are marked for 40.

I don't know aaanything about taking the 303 down to I-10 and hammering it to Quartzite and back. Nothing at all.

I also know that the short shield is useless. And that's usually the bike I got stuck with. At least it had the accessory pipes and it was the right color.

I should not have a fully faired bike on the highway because I get bored. And when I get bored I open up the throttle until I'm entertained.
