The rack still looks as good as when you sent it, the only thing that's changed are the accessories and tires on the bike. I'll send it back to you if you promise to send me two more just like it!

Which outback ?

A DR BBQ rack would be most welcome 'downunder' - wider the better I say. I like the silver version prototype. DR's are popular on the big sheep and cattle properties so a big rack can fit a couple of dogs, a sheep or other farm implements.

AU ADV riders travel far leaner than our American counterparts, who generally carry everything including the 'kitchen sink' so maybe an XXL size for North Americans ! I bought a BBQ rack for my KLR from the eBay USA builder and it was the sweetest accessory ever.

ADV inmate 'Jedimaster' is 5 years into a RTW ride and now on a DR650. He has custom built his rack several times and offers a good insight into design aspects, so maybe the builder could get some feedback from Adam who is currently in South America.

We are ready to push the 'Buy It Now' button for 2 of your product for our South America DR bikes. Keep it coming !

Anyone know where to buy a wide rack for the DR650 like the old BBQ rack? The Manracks version is too narrow, but I like the 4 point mounting.

Rack for down under or up over!!!!!!

I really love all the racks out there. I have had a few of them, usually on a used bike I bought. As a certified welder for 40 yrs and riding for 45 I have made a few doosies. My friends and neighbors would laugh out loud at some of the racks I have made. Out of all of them, the best one was the one(I did not make) was last summer when I bought a stock tw200,put it in my truck and went to Eagle Id. My friend Charlie, xt225, and I went to a salvage yard and bought 2 racks off 3 wheelers. (ATCs), they fit right around seats. Bought 2 clips that had rubber inside $.99 at Depot, used 2 bungee cords and 2 zip ties. Those racks were HUGE and worked PERFECT. Took 1/2 hour to figure out and mount. My tw200 had 110lbs plus my fat ass on it and we rode 1500 miles to Yellowstone and Tetons, lots of dirt with no problems. We stopped to look at waterfall and about 50 Harleys pulled in,(going to Sturgis) and some of the guys came over to check the bikes out. Couple of the guys could not believe the racks would hold up. My bike was picked up by the rack and shook up.No PROBLEMS. Total cost of rack installed. $20.99 pus 2 zip ties, good ones from auto store. Even strapped a Aux gas tank off old trail 90.Sold bike and just bought a 09 dr650.I promised wife and friends I would not MacGiver this bike at all. Going to be Bumblebee like my old r100gs. Ordered Yellow tank, IMS, @ justgastanks(5% ADV discount)and yellow 2 gallon Rotopax to replace old aux tank.(20% off ADV discount) black Wolfman tank bag, yellow Wolfman Expedition dry saddlebags and even painted my new skidplate YELLOW. Going to have a nice pretty bike for all to see.Covering it with mud tomorrow on all day ride in dirt. The most exciting thing is my friend, Charlie called as he went to salvage yard yesterday and bought me a rack that is 6 inches wider than my last rack. YIPPPPEEEE!!!! Cant post pic but you can go to GEAR> EQUIPEMENT>LETS SEE A PIC OF YOUR CAMPING GEAR.PAGE 168 to see rack on bike.
Good nite,
Heirhead
