Extra maps on a Zumo and Mac

I have an EU Zumo 550, with the latest CN Europe maps installed (v2010.1).

I've now bought the latest CN NA maps (v2010.1 on DVD) to put onto the SD card.

I installed the maps onto my MacBook Pro, attached the Zumo and also put the 4Gb SD card into the slot on the side of the MBP.

When I opened Road Trip, it told me that the maps were locked and did I want to unlock them. Well, yeah So I clicked on the button to unlock them online.

From the Garmin web page, I found my Zumo device, which put the Unit ID into the appropriate field. I then entered the serial number fro the white sticker on the back of the DVD cover (the number starting S/N) and the 8-character product key listed on the green sticker.

When I clicked the button, the page refreshed with an error:
Invalid combination of Unit Id and Serial Number .

Any ideas?

Ah-ha! As told on another forum, when they say serial number on the Garmin unlock page, they mean unit serial number - put in the Zumo's serial number and all is well.

Maps are unlocked and being added to the SD card now

By the way...the latest version of City Navigator Europe NT is v2010.30c. If you just purchased the DVD you might want to contact Garmin for the update.

The version 2010.30 has been out for several weeks now with two (2010.30b and 2010.30c) minor updates since - the "c" version was made available today.

Is anyone able to tell me which is the serial number on my Zumo 550? there is a number below the barcode near the SD card slot, is that it? I've tried that and still no luck

Yes that is it. I has the number then a space and will have the model (Zumo 550, __) to the right.
