Bsa

This is my first attempt to post a photo. This is my dad, taken around 1955I think. He just finished assembling this bike out of the crate.

I hope this works!

cool dad on a cool bike. got anymore pics?

i've always been into the looks and sounds of the older british twins. i'm a youngster (relative to most on this site) so i didn't get to see any come out of the crate, but i get to see a few oldies riding around town. i'd love to get my hands on one someday when i have more money/time to tinker with it.

thanks for the pic.

Not of Dad unfortunatley. I do have a lot of old flattrack and speedway pics.

Give me some time and I'll see what I can do.

Here we go. Tried it once but had to resize.

These guys were known as the BSA wrecking crew. L to R Al Gunter, Stu Morley, Neil Keen and Jack O'Brien. Pretty much ruled Ascot and a lot of the west coast on their Goldstars around the late 50's and early 60's. This photo was taken by the late Walt Mahoney.

I will post more of these if anyone is interested. I just opened my smugmug account this afternoon so it will take a little time to upload pics.

I should also note that although these are my photos, I don't really own them. Dan Mahoney owns the rights to these photos and still sells them at Vintange and late model flattrack races. I guess what I'm saying is please don't get me in trouble by copying anything I post with Dan Mahoney's name on it.

Thanks

Question

This is all a little before my time. My first real bike was a 71 DT1 250. Rode a lot of old Bultacos and other late 60's and early 70's dirt bikes when I was in ny early teens.Does this count as old school? Me on a 73' Husky at the Shamrocks GP around 1990 I think. Won my class and got 3rd OA on a loaner bike.

In case your wondering, the pink and green are Lost Coyotes MC club colors. I wonder if there any old dez racers on this board?

If you find one of these neglected in a garage, stay away from it. They are dangerous. They shimmy. They vomit oil.
Do not approach it. Just call me immediately to handle the problem.

I love pictures of old bikes. I am going to dig up some more if I can remember where I put them. I was wondering though, am I posting the race pics in the right place? they are old but they are racing stuff. In the future should I move them to the racing forum?
