Ya I wanted to keep it mostly original. This winter I'm bead blasting most of the parts the frame and swing ARM then powder coating them. I'm also getting the cog lighter with RAM cell phone and gps mounting system in the dash and I also installed those bark busters I love how it looks. I broke my finger 2 weeks before I got it and I didnt even know i broke it ha. Very happy with this bike. But I really want to find a acerbis tank for it

Xt550 - sr500
G'day,
first post here in the 550 section. I'm looking at an XT550 locally, with one owner 27,000kms on it. Still angry at myself for passing up a couple of bargain xt500's and an xt600 tenere before their prices went through the roof here in Aust. I have an SR500 also, so am familiar with yam 500 thumpers. The question I have though is, other than the stock tank, and big dakar style tanks, has anyone come across something pretty without a custom job? I think the answer is "no"? I have a spare SR500 tank lying around, which would clear the frame tube, but the mount would be too far back I think. I have a couple of spare AG100 tanks that could be spliced maybe, but wouldn't hold much. Any ideas appreciated, cheers |
