Disc Image files to GPS,Windows 7
I have searched here but couldn.t find the answer, so if someone could help me, please.
With Windows XP I didn't have any problems transferring .img files using Img2gps to my gps. I have Windows 7 now and the Garmin file is a Disc Image File [img] in my computer. When I transfer the files to the Garmin folder in the micro sd card it won't open. The properties stay the same Disc Image File . The maps don't show on the Map Setup page in my GPS. I did load the Garmin drivers for the GPS and it says connected and loading. Also tried copy and paste to the sd card with the same result. Thank you

Names are important!
I have a laptop with Win7, and no problems transferring the *.img file to the gps, just drag 'n drop. Whats important is the filename! Normally the file on in the internal memory of the Garmin is called gmapprom.img. If you want to have an extra map on the SD-card, the file is named gmapsupp.img. If you have the worldwide basemap it's called gmapbmap.img. These are the only map filenames accepted by the Garmin gps
