Carolina KTM in Mooresville, NC does not charge fees and is straightforward with pricing below MSRP... I just picked up my 2012 RC8R there yesterday, and they happen to have a beautiful 990SMT in white on the showroom floor.

Two weeks ago I traded in my 09 SMT for a 12

Old and new

I love the orange

Engine on the 12 feels a little smoother at low revs, probably KTM have set the fuel mapping a bit richer, fuel consumption is slightly worse.
Great bike

It is the first time I replaced a bike with a similar one, for me the SMT is the best bike so that makes sense

Picked up my 2012 two days ago and put 450 break-in miles (under 6500 rpm) on between Ojai and Placerville, CA. I picked the twistiest canyon/back roads in the Sierra foothills, including Sequoia and Kings Canyon Parks. This bike is soooo much better in every respect than my F800GS and Caponord. The jerky on/off throttle that kept me on the sidelines is 100% cured. This bike IS like comparing a scalpel to a dull kitchen knife.

Welcome. The jerky throttle is getting better the more I ride. Only have about 100 miles and the bike is awesome. Got it up to 90 and still had a gear left to use.

just turned over 5000 on mine - nice bike fun bike

south jersey hey - was a atlantic city boy for 27 yrs then had to move out to the midwest - have a cheese steak for me

Can anyone confirm whether or not saddle bags are included on the 2012s in the US? I've seen mixed reports. I stopped by a dealer in the northeast over the weekend and was told they were *not* included, as far as they knew.
