Waiting, waiting, waiting. Might be ready by the 2012 OCR (even then it will still be finished before TD's )

Ok Alex, because you asked

I got the main sidecar frame back from the painter yesterday. I've been laid up for a week with a bit of a burnt leg so I haven't done much. Had plans for Easter but had to stay home

So last night, and today I made a bit of a start on the re-assembly

Nice shiny frame

First thing to go on was the swing arm, then the shock, the hub, and the brake caliper

You might remember all the little corner gussets with the three holes Well they are for captive nuts, so I spent nearly all day, drilling the paint blocked holes, and pop rivetting (Literally hundreds of rivets ) all the captive nuts in place.

Then I fitted the rear lower floor section. As well as screwing the aluminium panels in place, they will also be glued to stop any rattling. Sikaflex 252 is the stuff to use. They are now using it to fasten the big aluminium panels to the big semi box trailers. Apparently the ally will tear before the sikaflex lets go.

Will fit the main floor section tomorrow after work, then I'm stuck again until the rest of the aluminium skins come back from the painter. Got to get a new screen made for the bike too, then all the bike panels and tank will be going to get painted. Then all that's left after that is to make the main storage box for the front, and the wiring Doesn't sound much, but for a first try at this, I'm learning a lot of lessons about how long things take

Hey Dave, seeing that 3legs has finished his rig, maybe you could send yours over to him to finish.

Couldnt be any slower than your Vic mates

Fitted the main floor panel yesterday

Than started fitting the brake line for the sidecar brake.

Than picked up all the parts that had been pained silver

And now the painstaking work of fitting and sealing all the panels, refitting the front brake calipers and the fuel tank and hoses.

Joined the sidecar back to the bike, hopefully permanently.

More tomorrow

Yeah, you'd think he'd take a bit more pride in his work and take some care!

Damn, that's a right purdy outfit Neil.

Pity about that shiny white Beemer in the back ground getting in the way

Hope your legs getting better.

See you in a couple of weeks at the Sidecar rally?

Looking good Neil. Almost there. Took mine for a run today. I have a fair bit work to do to get it right. Hopefully yours will get it right first time. I have PM'd you.
