FUNNY! I swear I cancel that thing but my GPS power plug blocks my view of the little green light. Maybe the switch needs lubricatin'.

Must be a common defect with DR's, Todds seems to always stay on.

I know it's common on mine. Seems like I'm constantly craning my neck to see if the blinker canceled. So when my bike takes the occasional nap and busts out a blinker it's almost a relief. Forces me to resort to waving my arms around like in the old days.

We call it AARPing, named after the seasoned citizens who leave theirs on, even when their Buick's are idling in the driveway.

Oark, Burger Barn and back

Left Rogers about 7:30 this morning gonna beat the heat, it was 81 by 8am though. Was a fun day, found that the beemer doesn't like to climb hills with a street tire on the back though. Short video of the rodeo I had going up CR5051 over by Oark. I did run into two guys from Maryland that were riding the TAT. There thread is here.

Had breakfast with them then we split our separate ways.

Found some nice roads South of Oark too.

The rodeo clip trying to get the big bike up CR5051, NW of Oark.

Back home by 3pm, wasn't too bad heat wise especially in the trees. Fun day, rolled up 220 miles.
Turned over 12.000 miles on the BMW today so will do the BMW check list for the 12,000 mile, set the valves, change the fluids etc. Should be a nice project for when it is 100 degrees out.

Later

NIce 10cup!

thats a lot of weight on gravel when it wont hook up.

I would rather be clawing up hill than sliding downhill on my pig though.

Pretty neat rock formation too! Seems like I just saw that on a Bohawk, Dogjaw, Thumpstart92 ride. Not sure I've ever been by that particular site.

Nice to see some other folks postin videos as well. Not enough picture and video posts for my money on our rides. Take care.

I'd rather sit at the DMV. At least you are served when your number comes up.

Thanks for the post and especially the video. I alway enjoying seeing some of the areas folks are riding in. I have started following the ride report from the guys you ran into doing the TAT, always fun to keep up with their progress. Would love to do that some day.

As a side note: For anyone interested in a video camera, the site "The Clymb" has the Contour packages on sale. Not too sure if these are a good deals, but it might be worth a look for those that have been thinking about purchasing an adventure camera. http://www.theclymb.com You have to be a member to purchase, but membership is free. I've bought from this site several times, always good service.

Not bad pricing, it's the same price as Amazon, but they are also throwing in a cary case. Keep in mind, that 10Cups Contour is a higher model then the Roam2. You don't get a remote mic plug in with the Roams.

Started the day at Penguin Ed's with some other inmates for an ADV breaky. I had the Mexican Surprise which I didn't keep long...

Then on to Mossy Creek to get a tire fixed that he had just put a TuBliss system in. Turned out to be a defective bladder. Travis swapped it out and held air fine.

Got home, put the tire on and felt the need to try it out. So around 1:00 headed out with no particular place to go.

Headed south and thought I try to find a new back road route to Devil's Den.

Never been here but saw the sign and though I'd check it out.

May do a photo tag on this location

Kept going south west taking small county roads that looked like they were going in the right direction. Had the GPS set for Devil's Den so it kept trying to get me there after I turned each time.

Got to Devil's Den in good time and had a wild hair to head toward Natural Dam to make a day out of it. Tried to stay on small roads. GPS wasn't helping much as it keep trying to get me back to the highway.

Got to Strickler and turned on S. Tomato Road to S. Cove Creek to Pierson Rd to Bug Shuffle to Old Cove City Rd...and then I found this:

I knew it's fame from the ride reports here! I had to hit this one!

It was living up to it's rep.

Since I was by myself I was taking it slow and picking my lines carefully. Didn't want a get off with out anyone around. Keep an eye out for the infamous "rough spot" and watching for ride arounds.

Found it:

I took the ride around on the left. Probably could have made it, getting more cautious (smart) in my old age.

Made it through to the other end:

Shameless Selfie:

On to Peaceful Home Rd. and to Natural Dam my final destination:

After a short break and fuel, I slabbed it home up 59 since it was getting late. The DRZ ran great and I'm liking the new Dunlap 606 and TuBliss system. Hit 80 a couple of times and didn't notice any problems with balancing or vibration.
