This little guy is for sale in my area. first trailer I've seen that kinda made me want one. most of the others are either too big or painfully small.

I saw one like that in Canada. looked nice inside. Appeared to be well made and the owners liked it too...

That is exactly what I'm leaning towards, but with a GMC Canyon.

i have an old coleman newport popup that my wife bought in 2002. it was ok shape at the time, and has since fallen prey to the elements. it needs new canavas.

i had a lifted grand cherokee at the time and did a SOA swap with it, which actually brought it to ride level behind the GC. it rides a little nose-high on the JK with the 2.5" OME coils, though.

i thought i'd take a stab at refinishing the interior. it turned out "ok", but i cant get some of the trim to go in place like it should be. i may end up trying again later on with the knowlege i gained in the first attempt.

the delrin nut on the whiffletree stripped after i did the interior. so, no knowing that you can buy acme threaded nuts off of mcmaster-carr and such, i made my own using 3/4" all-thread and a coupler nut. well. it takes longer to crank it up by hand, but a 18v dewalt drill will now raise the top. :)

works pretty darn good!

but the canvas still needs to be replaced. i'll be using it next week in florida on a camping trip. may sell it to help fund a new camper thats NOT a popup.

what i've learned having owned ours.
-easy to tow
-pretty maneuverable
-great visibility
-setup is "easy", but time consuming
-a popup is a glorified tent. there is absolutely NO sound insulation (duh)

i'm hoping to afford a 18-20ft camper trailer one day. that will make me happy.

It would be worth it to have one like that justy to be able to insert the word "whiffletree" into conversation.

Gotta be Amish to use that word -- horse and buggy talk. Whippletree spoken with a lisp ?

b1pig - good thinking on that fix, power lift to boot !!

I feel bad even linking that forum. Once you start down this kind of rabbit hole there's no escaping

Got the Raindrop out of the storage unit today - then dropped it - hopefully the brakes are not ruined by being on for a mile...

Going to try and go do a week or two of camping, I hope we can manage, it's been a couple of years. No mice in trailer though, that's good news and after two years, one tire was down 5 lbs, the other 3! Not bad.

Looks like summer is here! Dinosaur National Monument, and Mesa Verde cliff dwellings - wife has never been to either one.

You could post a pic or two.
