I had never heard of that problem but it must be why he put "Full 1-ton Toyota chassis with proper six-lug rear axle" in the first sentence of the ad. Maybe the $2000 one had the bad axle! LOL

Some had dual rear axles, the rear axle was just a tag axle. Maybe thats it.

It was her idea of LITTLE/LITE

DSC_0008
She said she wanted to go camping,

I said I would research tent trailers.

Bought it in 2005. It was cheaper than a lot of cars, and it has a bathroom.

Those things seem to have a hard time of it at our elevation.

I agree, sorry if that came across a bit terser than I meant it to be.

My Son fixed up an 1963 14' trailer. New paint, axle, flooring, sink, etc..... He really liked it until the baby came along, to small. Very affordable. Mostly elbow grease.

That was one of my concerns. Others are the lack of aeordynamics and simply the weight that little engine has to move around.

My son had one for awhile,,, and he said that he found info online where some people put a GM 4.3L into them,,,,
If you had a really nice unit and loved the camper that might be an option.

I'd be happy to have one just stock. I can't afford a tent.
