Periodic stall at idle, hunting for idle, high idle, stumble. Part of it was fuel delivery. Replaced fuel filter (the vehicle has two --one has been removed all together as part # is obsolete) Fuel pressure regulator and Idle Air control valve replaced.

Fuel pump checked out as good.

The vehicle is at my friends R&D facility as he is in the Auto industry and they are using the vehicle to gather data for an OBD 1 scan tool (needed an old FORD and I got one and he said he'd trouble shoot the problem I an having.)

Perfect timing as it it died for him today (the problem is intermittent-yesterday I drove it to his shop and it did not miss a beat) --he said it's ignition.

Suggested going to MSD Distributor, Ignition Module and Coil. Said Ford ignition electronics are a weak link for that era vehicle...

3 years ago put on rebuilt heads and Doug Thorley headers....The motor is very strong when it runs.... once I can get this sorted out, then additional mods might be considered..

.

Are you saying you have one available: and would you recommend replacing all the parts I mentioned?

yes replace the dist. do away with the motorcraft module. and add a good MSD keep in the foot well of the Mini. mounted on rubber mounts. I have had the same MSD 6a on my 1980 chevy since 1990 , Inside the truck away form the heat/climate on rubber mounts.

add a throttle body spacer to your intake . ohh and ahh block off the EGR... but do it discreetly...

I have a complete US gear overdrive unit for a C6 brand new never been installed gasket adapter and conversion ujoint. just shorten your drive shaft it literally bolts on to the back of your C6.

thinking about it for my chevy truck but I need to do a lot of machining to make it work even in a divorced type way.
I really want it on there but......
