I have a feeling this one I will be following along as updates come in.
You certainly have a good head for this kind of adventure, good background and attributes, and good equipment - What could go wrong? And apparently you've thought that through very well, also. Best of luck, be safe, be well, and be sure to compile the whole story at the end if it ever truly concludes. It will be a great legacy to riders that hope to tackle their own quests, no matter how grand or small. Mark

I've always enjoyed your reports, Jay!!
If you've never been and hit it at the right time of year..I highly recommend that you visit Death Valley seeing as you're leaving us for awhile. As 2uprtw start winding down their trip, I was wondering what I'd follow next and this is it..not sure if we can actually push Vince far enough south.

Good luck Amigo!
I joined you as a fan over on Facebook so I hope that you post a bit over there too. If you are on the way to Memphis check out Beale Street and Graceland. I didn't really appreciate the Memphis music scene until we were there for a month earlier this year and the more that I read the more fascinating it became. Chargrilled oysters at Pearl's, about 3 blocks or so from Beale Street. Absolutely some of the most awesome food that I've had in my lifetime. And the Martin Luther King Museum at the site where Dr. King was assassinated. A very sobering bit of history, and once again pretty close to Beale Street. Have a great trip!

Thanx for all the support! Glad to you have you all along for the ride.
Near Urbana, IL warming up over some triple strength coffee :) the cold isn't too bad, just the fingers. But it's all good cause I'm heading south! Bye bye Chicago. You've been a great home these past 5 years. Now home is on the DR and she's smiling :)

I'm sure Jay will pass me up in the next few months, but I am getting ready to move again. Just have to go see a girl, uh, well, I mean go see a man about a dog.

Jay, best wishes for a fun and safe adventure. I've really enjoyed your past ride reports and your philisophical look at traveling on a motorcycle. You'll be a great ambassadore for the sport. Ride on my friend and be safe.
