So close to my house (10 miles) I often ride the bicycle, but I do love Taste of Home in downtown Wylie. http://tasteofhomewylie.com/

Oh, did I mention that my wife does the baking here? Oh, I just did.

Nearly Forgot!

The Burger Bar in Cleburne. Seriously great burgers. It only seats four and a couple on the bench in front. The smallest restaurant I've seen.

RetroG,
I used live 5 minutes from Wylie... I'm still pretty close (Heath) so I'll have to check that place out!

Maybe I'll see you around Chandler's Landing Marina. (You'd think I'd get a decent career instead of just hobbies.)

You sail? I live about 90 seconds (ok MAYBE 2 minutes) from the marina! Haven't actually been on the lake in years though...

I know Missouri isn't in this region but to me its is so....... Lamberts, the home of tossed rolls in Sikeston was on one of the food shows yesterday along with the Salt Lick in Austin. I always hit Lamberts on my way through Missouri to the Ozarks, its one of my all time favorites.
