That is beautiful. I hear there are 2 chain driven XS's around on the race circuit. When will I be able to see it in action?

Broadford in October all being well. The other chain driven XS was built by Rex Wolfenden (T Rex Hondas). I think Mal Pitman is working on one too. Good to see some of the blasts from the past up and racing. Forgotten Era has been extended to a 1982 cut off so there should be a few new bikes racing eg Katanas

I'm trying to get a BMW R100 up & racing in this class. (Just need a cheap one to start work on). They did well in the Castrol 6 Hour way back when.

My '78 SR500

Recently sold the '85 GR650

Just put Dunlop K70s on the SR, look forward to seeing how it does on the dirt. No doubt it'll be better than the Hornet's tyres

Dunlop K70, good overall tyre for wet/dry-dirt/tar on older type m/c

Should find they wear well, depending on ride conditions, etc.
Give some feedback after a few kms.

Thought I'd post this one,
"Macca's" 'Critter' [1984 XT600 'modified'],

@ junction of Brindabella & Nottingham Roads,
coming back from 'Alpine' this year,
runs along quite well, more mods to come though.

Not new by any stretch (no pun).

Me old mate Greg Pretty used to race the things.
Pittmans in SA had them converted to chain drive for racing in the 80's

I wouldn't mind betting it's one of them

I've started giving it the once over and the wheels and spokes come up like new with a little polish.
With a period correct big tank, it should be a good thing for "retro adventure riding".
I've also got a '78 SP370, just picked up a PE250 from 1980 and will take delivery of a '72 DT2MX shortly as well.
Then there's a couple of 40 year old CT90's kicking about......
Hmmm was it that long ago? 1980 bought one new.
Cheers Brstar

It's not.

Designed, engineered and built from the ground up here in Albury. There have been a few been a few different chain drive conversions done over the years on XS11s here and in the US and South Africa. I believe Mal Pitman is working on one currently.
