frontal review next

OK full frontal!!!

Lets start with the small additional bag I added.
I wanted a outside pen holder and a place for a multitool or knife, this was cheap and had snap molle attachments so on it went~

Left holder has my case hobo knife for now.

Right holder has the blade!

I did have my spring assisted CRT M4 in there but this is lighter and has the serration also which could be handy

Back to the left side pen holder, led pen light combo

right side just a sharpie type deal

Grease pencil still to be purchased

Front pouch holds wallet and itouch

Main pouch as note pad and nothing else yet

Again more grimlocks, reversed so I can move them to the place that may need them.

Front most pouch holds the camera and batteries along with a card reader.
I think a camera is a great idea, document the zombies and leave a final video message to love ones before my brain is eaten etc.

The big main front pouch has some goodies
breaker bar, ipod charger and battery pack (with cables for phone/itouch) charger, bug lotion, chapstick and sunscreen in the pouch.

The pry bar (can be sharpened to a knife edge if needed.

solar charger

opened with cables, it is also a battery pack for non solar charging of items.

stuff

8gb memory stick, not sure why but it is sexy

on the front I also have a small clip flash light

swivel head so it can be clipped to a hat or pocket etc

OK, moving up to the top most pouch
compression strap can hold a jacket etc

Morale patch is a must

This has a standard water bottle sleeve

Also the bungee stuff to secure a jacket or other stuff.

more places to hook crap I mean gear

headphones space pen, rescue tape, flashlight and misc snacks

Missing a small bottle of sam buca

the misc

course sharpener, should I put a fine one instead?

yet more cutting stuff, but this has tweezers

rescue tape, this stuff is awesome

gain access to my tiny front door with this mini to you big to me pry bar, if I can't get in I burn the door down with the flint steel

ok, are we ready for the main pocket!!!!
Large compartment with a open pocket on the back side and a covered pocket on the front

laptop, battery and power cord removed for this demo

main slide in pouch, note the small paracord loops for hanging more stuff that you don't want at the bottom of the pouch.

the front flap that hides the front pouch holds 2 tin foil hat building tarps

and the first aid kit inside the zipper section

the front pouch holds 100ft paracord with biner on the end, zip ties, poncho, gloves, and buff bandana thingy

missing a grapple hook however

so I need to add a few things, like a lighter or two and a few other things like trash bag or other bug out stuff, but a good start right?

After reading this thread, I may have to adjust my plans.

Right now I've got a Blackhawk Battle Bag that's in use as a range bag.

I'm going to get the gear together first (what I'd need for a minimalist tour on the HD, one barrel bag, no saddlebags) then see how big the bag needs to be, but it needs to be something I can keep on me when I go into a burger joint.

I usually toss one of my daypacks in the car when I travel...loaded with the usual stuff in case the car breaks down and I need to walk a few exits or more.

I took three bags full of crap to the store and tried it all in different bags to see what worked best, I like the sling design as you can put it in front of you easily to sit down or grab stuff from inside etc.
The bag is surprisingly small and would make a great scooter bag

i don't have the energy to scroll up to the top of that encyclopedic post, but having fun is what edc is all about. well, it's what life is all about, but i digress.

Q: do i understand you (Mr Scott) want to remove all of that stuff & use the bag as a carry on when you fly?

if so, i'll be you never replace it into the same bag. edc = more gear

as to the first part:
correct, it will be the electronics bag for my family, 4 ipods chargers, dslr, and misc flight stuff.
The great thing with this pack is that it takes no time to empty it and refill with all the gear. For the flight the front pouch comes off, the knife holders etc also.

But who knows, I have a bag problem and I may need another

Aside from the stuff you mentioned, you need at least one flashlight, a glow stick, a P-51 can opener, a Walther .380, 6 mags of ammo, face paint, and a signal mirror.

And a grappling hook.

oh and for sure a grapple hook

can opener on the leather man.

signal mirror perhaps but I am in CA so not sure about the shooter or the face paint

also reduced the pic size, sorry for the huge downloads.

Rolls up and fitted to the cap with a zip tie, you have the ability to store/carry 96 oz of water if needed. Sewn in loop for attaching to the outside of a bag, or with a shoulder strap of it's own.

I've knocked one of these about for 5 years in the camping supplies collection, frozen it many times full of water for an ice chest, boiled it to clean, nearly indestructible.

I have a dozen liter bottles with insulated sleeves, carry sleeves, drink mouth inserts...nothing replaces a Platy for versatility.
Here's a 1 liter, rolls down to about nothing when not in use. Freeze one full of water, carry with you, supplies ice water until it's gone, takes up no space to speak of when you're finished.

seriously

I cannot be the only guy who has a bottle boosted from the mini bar in his little zombie purse

I am gonna go add a couple more then, just for good measure

maybe I'll just drop one of hip flasks in there

ambien is a good idea

so much easier to pack than real sleeping gear and still get a good nights sleep
