The Maxpedition Proteus came today. It is smaller yet holds everything that was in my 5.11 PUSH pack . No extra room for anything else but I haven't used the PALS webbing yet. As a waist pack it feels balanced and doesn't flop around nor is it top-heavy. The belt is rigid enough to suport a paddle holster and handgun and a 2 mag pouch. Belt keepers might be a good idea though. Gotta use it for awhile but I think it'll be the new AEDC (almost every day carry) bag.

'cause Christmas is right around the corner ![]() The current zombie purse is a nondescript blue duffel bag. It's not really zombie-rated. It's more along the lines of "what happens if I am stuck travelling for an extra day" or "what if the fucking creek rises and I am stuck overnight on the far bank"? contents: Boots (well, in the pickup with me) clothes- socks, undies, jeans, t-shirt, sweatshirt, baseball cap and knit hat work gloves bic lighter and tinder assorted mini-bottles toiletries- toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo hand towel those little moist towelettes they give you at BBQ joints a few 25-foot lengths of paracord several mylar emergency blankets a couple of rain ponchos knockoff leatherman duct tape, wrapped around a pencil stub chemical hand warmer 80-pc first aid kit bic pen and a sharpie mini-maglight, and another cheapo flashlight 3 MRE's 4 20-oz bottled waters extra ammoe (I stuff kleenex in the box to keep it from rattling) I have a 30-mile commute. This is enough shit to get me home, or allow me to stay out somewhere in relative comfort in case of a snowstorm or whatever. My wife laughed at me until those poor bastards in NY/NJ (some of whom are STILL without power) got hit by the storm this month. She has suddenly developed a tast for MRE's.

From Sunnyvale? Your bug out bag should be bottles of rum, coke, handguns, pepperoni, chicken chips, and don't forget the clearing stick!
Oh and make sure to harvest your crop first:

My home is where people would bug out to.
My truck carries enough stuff to get me home, or to make myself a home wherever I find myself. My EDC (pockets full of crap) would make a survivalist jealous. Pretty much got it covered, and oddly enough it isn't because I'm any kind of prepper . Can you believe I do ALL of this without having to carry any kind of lead injection device? Crazy.

I should probably put some fruit roll ups in the car, that should last me.

Got a couple of chewy granola bars in the door pocket. I get cranky if I don't get lunch.

A Bible, some chewing tobacco, and something to keep the garden trimmed?
