loady gets lazy
i do a fair bit of car racing. if you've ever been to the track and had to wander around to get stuff you'll know what a pain in the ass that can be. i've peddled around, i've used golf carts. i've even had scooters before. but for 2010 i wanted something a little different.
so i searched craigslist for a cool bike frame. after a couple days this old cannondale aluminum animal showed up for the reasonable sum of $35. so... $20 later we've got a starting point.

first things first. lets get some modificating done and some paint on the old girl!
i'm gonna need some stoppage. a hydraulic disk is in order. so... modified the front fork to hold a juicy 7, then painted the fork.

out back i machined a hub to bolt a secondary sprocket to. you pedal types will note it's on the wrong side. panic not friends. there's a pedal sprocket over on the right side for emergency use.

as for the frame you could see hints of that snazzy pumpkin colour. before spraying it on i filled all the cable stay holes and smoothed things out a bit. the cranks the bike came with cleaned up nicely so i re-packed the bearings and put them back in with a single speed cog.

and a few short hours later the pedal bike scooter-thingamabobwhatsit-bike is bolted together. it rips along at a gps measured 70km/hr, gathers looks of admiration from small boys, looks of disgust from women, and is solidly ignored by men. good times.

That's an amazing bike build!

Sweet, loaded.
Maybe some ideas here for your next one. Yours has a much more elegant solution to the left side sprocket attachment. On the Derringer, the sprocket is just bolted up to the spokes w/ the use of a backing plate. I think his rigs are going for $3k+.
