Just make sure you get one that says "Charging output of up to 2.1 amp" and you should be OK. Most current devices won't charge well from a charger / battery pack that only out puts ~1A.

I have charged my Sena off the bike at night while I sleep. I've never had any starting issues. I do the same with my phone.

The one I have is the Mophie power station Red. Output is 5V up to 2.1A. I have used it to charge my IPhone and the Sena with no problems.

I do the same - I ran my Sena, my phone and my iPod Touch all the way down and charged them overnight in my garage to see if it can handle all 3. Easy peasy.

+1... although I use the New Trent PowerPak. http://www.newtrent.com/store/extern...-0-nt100h.html

That tangle of cords and plugs in the tankbag during the day is now a tangle in the tent overnight leaving me with a warm glow of red 'charge' led's to nod off to. I couldn't be any happier

Dumb Question Time: (And excuse me if it's already been addressed)

My new SMH10-11 Dual Pack didn't include the AC wall charger, which is now SENA's policy.
It appears to me that I can use my Apple iPhone or iPad wall chargers with the mini-USB connector plugged in.
Am I correct?

You are correct. I use a generic wall USB nub and an Apple one to charge my girlfriends and mine at same time.

Did a pretty good off road ride on the weekend that I recorded using my Contour HD helmet cam. It was kind of funny to hear only my 1/2 of the conversation (when slow enough). While the Voice 2 do app will allow me to utilize the Sena to record my own voice (say for a vlog), and have MUCH better audio than the shitty Contour internal mic, I thought it might be cool to have our conversation recorded a la Long Way Down. We had a few deepish water crossings that were a complete surprise and it would have been priceless to have our 'colourful' and expressive language to go with the freezing mountain water we experienced.

It's pretty easy to synch the audio with the video.
What exactly do you mean by 'the voice 2 do app will allow me to utilize the sena to record my own voice'? I'm looking for a way to record my voice using the Sena (for vlogging purposes), anybody have an suggestions?

Thanks!

Love the side tones!!!

I finally got around to updating all our headsets to the 5.01 version. I gotta say I love the sidetone feature. I wasn't sure I would like it, but now I totally understand when my wife tells me I'm breathing heavy into the mic or that I have tendency to blow right into mic when I'm riding which is very loud!

One of our units acted a bit weird after the update saying it was on V5.0 instead of 5.01 and then wouldn't allow me to go to the config menu to check my settings. I forget the exact error message, but it was something along the lines of the unit connected does not match the actual selection. I did a hard reset and now when I hook it up it says its on V0.0 and gives me the same error message that the device isn't the actual device selected when I try to update it. Thankfully its our unit with the broken mic pin so I didn't fret over it and moved on. It seems to power up fine and work, but it might be eternally stuck on V5.0. All the rest updated fine.

Anyone know of a source for replacement speaker velcro? I got a new helmet and need to swap the unit over to the new one.

I asked the same question a few weeks back. There are several kits that include velcro plus a bunch of other parts you probably don't need. They are pretty inexpensive but it still smarts to think of buying $10 or $20 of stuff you don't need to get $1 of stuff you do.

The velcro patches show up separately on the Sena website but you can't buy them. I emailed Sena to ask about it and they kindly sent me a few patches. Only goes to further cement my belief that this company has the best customer service I have ever encountered.

I realized later that the pads for spacing speakers away from the inside of the helmet probably have velcro on them and I could have cut one apart. Not ideal but would work.
