Just so I understand. I have the upgradable SMH10. Will I be able to do this upgrade to firmware 4 to be able to use the 4 way talk feature?

firmware 4.0

Just upgraded my pair of SMH-10S to version 4.0 and it was flawless. Haven't tried them yet since.
I did the upgrade from 3.2 to 3.3 last week and they worked well so if there's an improvement Ill be happy as they were great already.
Will report back after I use them if there's any noticeable changes:)

Liking v4 a lot so far. The documentation is rather confusing, however. It took a fair amount of detective work to find out that the correct pairing mode for my zumo 660, for example, is the one labeled "phone."

So far my SMH10 is playing nice with both my zumo and the SR10, with audio from the SR10 overlaid on the GPS instructions, meaning radar alerts will not be cut off. Sweet.

Full shakedown cruise as soon as the calendar and weather report cooperate [g].

Shucks ... I didn't realize the V4.0 had gone live...........
Tried downloading but the website is acting a bit weird.... maybe too many other downloaders...
I can't even get the new version of the manual to d/l....
Staring at the cover page I notice it now says Bluetooth V3.0 .... so I guess that's good.
I'm looking forward to the voice prompts - glad I upgraded to the newer version...

"to be continued"

I'm in the same boat as well. I'm also curious to know how well the old non-upgradable units will play with the new ones. I have two, one for me and one for my wife when she rides along (rarely). I would like to get the newer version for myself so I can take advantage of the new features, but it doesn't make much sense to upgrade hers as well.......unless it won't play nice with the newer ones. In that case, I'll probably just suck it up and stick with what I have.

I doubt they will do it on a large scale again, but Sena customer service is excellent. If you email them and inquire about upgrading, they may just grant you a one time upgrade. Doesn't hurt to ask...

I updated this morning and tried pairing my phone and Zumo 550. Phone works normal. Zumo says it's paired, and it doesn't drop like it did before, but I get no sound. Maybe, the pairing sequence is wrong??

I thought I read somewhere that 4.0 would allow us to pair one phone to 2 headsets. Streaming music, is the desire. But, I find nothing in manual about this capability. Any ideas? I want my wife to hear the music, also. I may have to wire her up to Wing, after all.

Not one phone to two headsets...one headsets to two phones. This is called 'dual pairing'. This resolves the issue of being able to pair an SR10 hub and a Zumo 660 GPS to the SMH10 headset at the same time.

In a few months Sena will intro the SM10 dual Bluetooth adapter that will take in two audio sources and you can pair two headsets to that to share music with a passenger.

well upgrade went find on my 2 SMH10's. Only I found a pin is missing on the back of the one I use all the time

I don't know if it broke last time I removed it from helmet, or maybe the missing pin is not used anyway?
But it's definetlly missing because the other unit has all the pins.

Haven't talked to you since I purchased my original SMH10 pair. I purchase the B-version from Sena a couple months ago in preparation for V4.0. I have successfully upgraded to V4.0 and it seems to work. I wanted V4.0 in order to connect my iPhone (for music & telephone) and my Zumo 665 (for turn-by-turn nav) to the SMH10B. I understood from my communications with Sena that V4.0 would allow this. I tried many things but could not get what I wanted to work.

Adam: Can you tell me the correct sequence to make this work?

Thanks,
Matthew

I had two pins go missing on my first gen unit, noticed it first as I lost sound to the rh side. it was swapped under warranty with no issues.
