Down to a handful of file tags - wanted to find something out on the northern side during my ride this morning, but didn't get anything tagworthy. The file shots I have are mainly either in town or towards the southwestern side of the map. Screw riding around downtown on a day like today, so:

Well with the NC TOR around lately I fear that I have not been giving the TriTor as much attention as I might have....for a second there a minute ago I thought the TriTOR was still in Youngsville and that I drove riight by it this morning. Then I realized I was a tag behind...few...

I found some great stuff on the NE side of the tag map this morning. I took the long way home from the NCTor grab...down those little roads east of Youngsville in the middle of nowhere. Great stuff in places like "Justice NC"...

I'm contemplating starting a game for just secondary roads. We (as a group) tend to stay primarily along the primary transportation corridors. My idea for a secondary game is simple...primary transportation corridors like interstates and U.S. primary roads (like U.S 1, 401, 64, 264 etc) would be excluded...secondary roads only. The object of the game would be to avoid primary roads altogether. Planned rides to get the grab couldn't include the primary roads just like the tag couldn't be placed on a primary road.

I almost "almost" placed the NC Tor back within reach today in a town called Embro just NE of the Tri-TOR boundary...at the "Embro Mall" which appears to be the only business in Embro and is itself only a small concrete building the size of a shed at the crossroads of NC SR 1507 and NC SR 1509.

WB, I actually never even thought to look for the tag. There are TONS of great roads out that way in New Hill. The roads from here to there could be really interesting if you take the right ones

The new tag should be gone tomorrow(later today lol) with all the taggers in RTP.

I like this idea...the last tag I got in franklinton was 95% backroads from my house and back...only a about 4 miles of it was on RT 401...I really enjoyed that ride...I think this has merit...

I like it. That's how I try to plan my rides anyway. The only time I get on primary roads is when that's the only feasible route to a tag, for the most part. Or when I have to in order to get to an area. Getting to Apex or around Jordan Lake, I'm pretty much screwed unless I want to try and map out a route through neighborhoods and the like.

If you do this, I'd suggest including all of Vance, Granville, Warren, Franklin Counties in addition to what's within the TriTOR boundaries.

Tag 708 question:

I found 3 locations listed - one in Centennial Campus near NC State, one in downtown Durham and one in RTP. The Raleigh and Durham locations show up on the street views and don't look like they're the target. The RTP does NOT show up in street views for some reason. Am I narrowing this down properly?
